It’s time to reclaim the day — and this year, they’re doing it in a Gilded Age mansion on Fifth Avenue.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. St. Patrick’s Day has become synonymous with one thing in America, and it’s not honoring the patron saint of Ireland. It’s binge drinking. Green beer. Sloppy bar crawls. Waking up on March 18th with zero memory of the “celebration” you supposedly attended.
But here’s the thing: St. Patrick’s Day was never supposed to be about that. And for 15 years, Sober St. Patrick’s Day® has been on a mission to prove it.
A New Party, a New Way
The 15th Annual Sober St. Patrick’s Day Grand Celebration is happening on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and this year is a whole new experience. The event has moved to the stunning Fletcher-Sinclair mansion — a Gilded Age masterpiece that’s now home to the Ukrainian Institute of America — located at 79th Street and Fifth Avenue. That’s right: the exact spot where the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade ends. Where the parade stops, the best Irish entertainment in NYC begins.
And we’re not exaggerating that claim. The Irish Voice literally called it “the best Irish entertainment in NYC on St. Patrick’s Day.”
This year’s theme? Blue + Yellow = Green — a nod to the 15th anniversary and a beautiful tribute to the partnership between Irish and Ukrainian cultures, two nations shaped by struggle yet defined by their unbreakable spirit.
The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on parade day only, and they’ll be using all four floors and all nine state rooms of the mansion for an immersive, interactive experience unlike anything they’ve done before. Think Irish sing-alongs, musical instrument demos, a scene from the play “Hunger,” St. Brigid’s Storyteller, and a powerful presentation connecting Ukraine’s Holodomor and the Irish Famine.

The Lineup Is Absolutely Stacked
We need to talk about the talent because this roster is no joke. All-Ireland Champion musicians, award-winning dancers, and surprise guests — all performing live, all extraordinary.
Rory Makem — Legendary Irish folk singer-musician and one of the leading forces in the song tradition of Irish music. If you know, you know.
John Whelan — Seven-time All-Ireland Champion button accordionist and this year’s Grand Celebration Music Director. Seven times. Let that sink in.
Brian Conway — Five-time All-Ireland Champion fiddle player, recording artist, and 2006 Mid-Atlantic CCE Hall of Fame inductee.
Jerry O’Sullivan — America’s premier uilleann piper and recording artist. If you’ve never heard uilleann pipes played by a master, prepare to have your mind blown.
Donny Golden’s School of Irish Dance — Award-winning traditional Irish dancers who will absolutely sweep you off your feet.
Brendan Dolan — Award-winning pianist and keyboard player.
Flynn Cohen — Award-winning Irish guitarist and singer.
Dan Hunt & IAC Set Dancers — Quick, precise footwork set to Irish music that will have you on the edge of your seat.
James Felder and Donal Morrissey — Bagpipers bringing the full force of the pipes to the celebration.
Loretto Leary — Education and cultural director of Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum of Fairfield, bringing depth and historical context to the day.
Susan Davey — Actress, creative storyteller, and art history graduate bringing Irish narratives to life.
Cast Members from Parcel from America — A musical set in 1950s rural West Limerick that tells a poignant story of Irish emigration. Get the tissues ready.
Orlando Pagan and Ukrainian Folk Dancers — Traditional Ukrainian cultural heritage and dance, honoring the shared spirit of the evening’s Blue + Yellow = Green theme.
Mark Mitton — Master Magician. Because why not add a little magic to the mix?
Jim Frawley — Grand Celebration MC, executive coach, bestselling author, and host of the Jim’s Take podcast. The perfect host for an event of this caliber.

You Can Also March in the Parade
Here’s a bonus: If you want to be part of the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade itself, you can march with the Sober St. Patrick’s Day crew. All are welcome. It’s the 265th annual parade, it’s on Fifth Avenue, and it kicks off at 11:00 a.m. That’s a full day of celebrating Irish culture — first marching, then partying — completely alcohol-free.
Why This Matters
Sober St. Patrick’s Day isn’t about telling anyone what to do. It’s about offering a different option — one that actually honors the richness of Irish culture, the legacy of St. Patrick, and the deep traditions that make this holiday meaningful. It’s proof that you can celebrate fully, joyfully, and memorably without a drink in your hand.
For those of us in recovery, for the sober-curious, for families, for anyone who’s tired of the same old booze-soaked version of March 17th — this is the event. A party with purpose. Entertainment with heart. Community without conditions.
As Lydia Zaininger, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Institute of America, put it: Ireland and Ukraine are nations shaped by struggle yet defined by their unbreakable spirit, standing together in friendship, bound by shared histories and a profound respect for one another’s courage and culture.
That’s the vibe. That’s the mission. That’s what reclaiming the day looks like.
We’ll see you there, NYC.
