Why Listen?
Getting sober is one thing. Staying sober? That’s where the real plot twist begins.
The Sober Curator Podcast is hosted by Alysse Bryson and Tamar Routly, with Tamar also serving as the show’s producer through Podcast Impact Studio. Together, they bring sober lifestyle, pop culture, storytelling, humor, and recovery conversations to the mic with the same irreverent charm and emotional honesty that defines The Sober Curator.
But this is not just a two-host podcast.
The Sober Curator Podcast also features a rotating cast of Sober Curator contributors from around the globe, who step in as guest co-hosts depending on the topic, guest, and conversation. From sober travel and zero-proof drinks to quit lit, recovery advocacy, entertainment, spirituality, mental health, workplace culture, and pop culture hot takes, our contributors bring their own lived experience, expertise, personality, and perspective to the show.
Think of it as a sober media house party — with better boundaries, better beverages, and absolutely no one waking up wondering why they texted their ex.
Each episode pulls from the larger Sober Curator universe: celebrity interviews, zero-proof finds, bold conversations, personal stories, cultural commentary, and the voices of sober creatives, advocates, authors, entrepreneurs, and everyday people doing extraordinary things in recovery.
This is not a podcast about counting days or surviving life without alcohol.
This is a podcast about what happens after.
After the first brave decision.
After the fog lifts.
After the awkward social reinvention.
After you realize sobriety is not the end of fun — it might actually be where your real life finally starts.
Whether you’re sober, sober-curious, in long-term recovery, newly questioning your relationship with alcohol, or just here for smart conversations with people doing interesting things, The Sober Curator Podcast is your invitation to pull up a chair.
We’re not here to help you get sober.
We’re here to help you live sober — and love it.

The Mindful Binge: “Running Point,” “Your Friends & Neighbors,” and “Imperfect Women,” Scored Through a Sober Lens
byAlysse Bryson and Tamar Routly
Three shows, three different flavors of ”a sober person definitely wrote this” or ”definitely did not.” A basketball dynasty imploding over fake sobriety. Two women in very good coats who may or may not have killed their best friend. A suburban thief with a cocaine problem next door.
Alysse's TV ride or dies are here: Lane Kennedy, Patti Clark (making us global from Portugal), and co-host Tamar Routly. Spoilers for everything, on purpose. Each show gets scored on The Sobees, fulls and halves only, and one panelist tries to file a 4.75 and is denied.
In this episode:
”Running Point” season two: Cam says ”I'm sober now,” nobody believes him, and the urine swap (”Anyone ever bought fake urine? Just me?”)
Why you can't buy sobriety, no matter how expensive the rehab
Chet Hanks, sober on screen and IRL, and the love-addicted couple that deserves a spin-off
”Your Friends & Neighbors” season two: Owen Ashe, the loud music, and the scene of all scenes (no spoilers here, plenty on mic)
Perimenopause rage, the neighbor's dog, and Ali as the family's designated screw-up
”Imperfect Women”: the top-shelf alcoholic, the codependent nobody could stand, and why a three is a feeling
Alysse vs. Elisabeth Moss, and the Rotten Tomatoes score that backs Lane up
The strike, the attorneys, and ”I'm gonna get Claude to reach out to you”
Sober Shots:
”You can't buy sobriety. Doesn't matter how much money you have. You could maybe buy a pee test, but you can't buy sobriety.” (Alysse Bryson)
”A low score doesn't necessarily mean don't watch it. It's just our feelings about it, and a three feeling is a feeling.” (Alysse Bryson)
The Sobees, panel average: ”Running Point” S2: 3.5. ”Your Friends & Neighbors” S2: 4.5. ”Imperfect Women”: 3.5.

Meet Your Hosts: Alysse Bryson and Tamar Routly
Alysse Bryson
Alysse Bryson is the Founder of The Sober Curator, a lifestyle media platform serving the sober, sober-curious, and recovery communities with an entertainment-first approach to modern sobriety.
Before becoming a leading voice in sober media, Alysse built a career in publishing, advertising, business development, and community engagement, including roles with Seattle Met magazine and KING 5 Media Group. Her background in media, events, storytelling, and brand partnerships shaped the foundation for what would eventually become The Sober Curator.
Sober since 2006, Alysse brings humor, honesty, cultural fluency, and a deep belief that recovery deserves better PR. Through The Sober Curator, she has created a platform that moves beyond the “how to get sober” conversation and focuses instead on how to stay sober, live well, have fun, and build a meaningful life after alcohol.
As co-host of The Sober Curator Podcast, Alysse brings her signature blend of wit, warmth, curiosity, and no-BS commentary to conversations with authors, artists, entrepreneurs, celebrities, advocates, and sober creatives who are helping reshape the public narrative around recovery.
Tamar Routly
Tamar Routly — also known as T-Boog — is the Founder of Podcast Impact Studio, producer and co-host of The Sober Curator Podcast, a podcast producer, author, and unapologetic advocate for living out loud.
Sober for more than thirteen years, Tamar understands how stigma and shame can keep people quiet — in sobriety, identity, sexuality, and storytelling. Her own recovery helped her reclaim her voice. Coming out helped her use it.
Today, Tamar helps purpose-driven creators, brands, and changemakers get comfortable behind the mic and tell stories that matter. Through Podcast Impact Studio, she supports people who are ready to stop hiding behind the “someday” version of their story and start sharing their truth with more confidence, clarity, and impact.
Tamar lives openly and joyfully in Vancouver, BC, with her wife, Melodie, where they are raising their rad 9-year-old and cheering on two incredible young adults. She is also the co-author of Sobriety for Dummies with Lane Kennedy, a practical and empowering guide for people seeking recovery on their own terms.
Her mission is simple and fierce:
Don’t let the world narrate your life. Take the mic. Tell your own story.
TSC X Podcast Impact Studio
The collaboration between The Sober Curator and Podcast Impact Studio is rooted in one shared belief: stories change culture.
Together, Alysse Bryson and Tamar Routly are creating more than a podcast. They are building a platform for sober voices, creative conversations, and meaningful storytelling that helps people feel less alone and more empowered to speak honestly about who they are, where they’ve been, and what they’re building next.
This partnership also supports people who want to share their own stories but may not yet feel comfortable behind the mic. Whether someone is a sober creator, author, advocate, entrepreneur, coach, or community leader, The Sober Curator and Podcast Impact Studio offer a bridge between having a powerful story and knowing how to tell it in a way that connects.
Because getting behind the mic can feel intimidating.
So can telling the truth.
But with the right support, the right producer, and the right conversation, your story can become more than something you survived.
It can become something that helps someone else feel seen.

The BEST sober podcast!!
"If you’re sober, sober curious, or just looking for good vibes and an amazing community this is THEEEE podcast. Incredible host!!"
I’ve been waiting for TSC to come out with a podcast. TSC is an amazing resource for all things sober lifestyle and beyond! Can’t wait to listen.
After listening to the trailer, I am so excited to hear more!!!
Long time listener, first time caller, finally The Sober Curator brings everything together in one place, to truly remind me that nobody ever looked good drunk, and that being sober is actually so cool.
If this podcast is anything like the old Sunday social hosted on Instagram back in the pandemic days, it’s bound to be a good time. Can’t wait!
Puts a smile on your face the moment you click play ✨▶️✨.
I can’t wait on the first episode to drop! Refreshing, entertaining, and relatable! Bending and snapping my way to the next listen!
I am all about these conversations. Who knew I needed this level of wit, grit, sass, and serious inspiration. I’ve been a fan of Alysse’s for years and this is another way I can have her voice in my life.
Alysse and her team always deliver amazing and useful information with a flare for pop culture that makes every pill easy to swallow. This is a great place for sober tips and talk, but still fun and real in a way that sets it apart from the rest of the sober dribble drabble.
I met Alysse right as The Sober Curator was launched and she is THE BEST. I’m so excited that she’s launched a podcast and can’t wait to watch it grow!
What an amazing group of talented people speaking on recovery! Best new show!
I have to say, Alysse, when I think of her, her dedication to sobriety and her dedication to The Sober Curator. I just have to think of a Spitfire! This girl has more energy than a nuclear reactor and has a way of putting things that you just get it. She doesn’t beat around the bush and that’s my kind of person!
