They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but Tony’s life proves you can always find new ways to heal and grow. After a wild ride through addiction that included jail time, DUIs, rehab, and more than a few close calls, he finally hit rock bottom in a hospital bed back in ’89. But that near-death experience became his wake-up call. He dove headfirst into recovery, devouring the Big Book like a starved man, and found the answer.
Lacking a spiritual life, he searched for answers in nearly every religion and philosophy, but it wasn’t until he stumbled upon Stoicism that something clicked. This ancient philosophy, emphasizing reason, virtue, and acceptance, became a core aspect of his recovery. Tony, as a self-proclaimed ‘spiritual gangster,’ blends ancient philosophy with hard-won experience to help others navigate the road to recovery with his blog. He’s proof that it’s never too late to turn your life around and find wisdom in the most unexpected places.
With 35 years of sobriety, Tony shares his experience, strength, and hope online. His blog is a mix of educational articles, Stoic insights, and practical advice, all aimed at helping others find their path to recovery. He’s proof that even a ‘spiritual gangster’ can find peace and purpose.
