Sober Curator Contributor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, The Daily Llama and Altar & Ego – Long Island, New York
Staci Des Rault (cis female and pronoun is she/her) is a License Mental Health Counselor living, working and loving in New York State. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. Check out her website here for a full list of services offered.
While recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is not part of her personal journey, she does have experience with how substance misuse can impact one’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Staci believes that you don’t have to hit rock bottom to make a change.
She also believes you don’t have to identify as an alcoholic or an addict in order to benefit from sober living.
Ally of the Recovery Community
Staci seeks to be a strong ally in recovery, whether that recovery is from alcohol and drug addiction, disordered eating, trauma, self-harming behaviors, anxiety, depression, poor self-worth, codependent relationships, grief/bereavement, or a chronic illness.
Staci also has a love for exploring issues of faith and spirituality as part of the human experience. She particularly has a heart for those who have been hurt by organized religion. Especially those that still desire to have a spiritual community of some kind. She obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Staci considers the three years she spent studying theology some of the most formative years of her personal and professional life. You can check out her musings about spirituality and mental well-being in the column, “Altar & Ego” and “The Daily Llama.”
Staci is a proud mother of an active 5-year-old named Bryson and a (most of the time) loving wife to a very patient man named Mike.
