Addiction, Love, and Life. Addiction and life nearly tore them apart, but love held them together. Dr. Cali and Tim Estes have a marriage that is stronger than ever, but that Strength was bought at a price. Tim, a musician who never really had a problem with drugs, suddenly finds himself in the grip of heroin addiction. It’s affecting his life, his work, and especially his marriage.
Cali, who married the man of her dreams, suddenly finds herself “married to a junkie.” A tough gal from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Cali isn’t about to give up without a fight. No matter how hard the destructive force of addiction tries to destroy them, the force that is Tim and Cali keeps fighting together.
“I Married a Junkie” takes us through Tim and Cali’s struggles to overcome his addiction together. Their book shows the pain of addiction not only from the addict’s point of view but also from the loved one. The book also showcases the power of love between them and the triumph of recovery.
