CREAM ALE

A Cream Ale is a child without a home. You don’t see them often, and they don’t belong in any other category. Due to its brewing style, it’s categorized as an Ale, but also because of the brewing style, it can be classified as a Lager in most competitions. It can also be confusing since many limited-edition beers are Coffee Cream Ales (i.e., Tornado Joe from BrewDog) but are just as light as a classic lager.

Because of the vanilla flavor typically associated with these surprisingly light brews, they are usually paired with flavors that go well with that classic flavor (i.e., Orange Vanilla Cream Ale by Bravus Brewing), or the flavor is exacerbated even more (i.e., Madagascar Vanilla Cream Ale by WellBeing Brewing).
