A sober retreat is a structured getaway focused on wellness, recovery support, and personal growth without alcohol or drugs.
Anyone who wants a trip that does not revolve around the bar. People in recovery, people who quit and never looked back, the sober-curious still figuring it out, and frankly anyone who is done waking up on vacation feeling worse than when they left. You do not need a recovery story to belong on one. You just have to want to remember the trip.
It depends on the retreat, but expect yoga, meditation, hiking, kayaking, workshops, group sessions, and real meals. The ones on our calendar range from a Greek Islands sailing to a creativity retreat on Cape Cod to a women’s recovery weekend in Florida. The throughline: connection and adventure, not a hotel bar.
They range widely. Day trips and weekend gatherings can run a couple hundred dollars. International sober travel and multi-day programs climb into the thousands. The retreats on our calendar list real prices, so you can see exactly what you are getting before you book. The value question is the same as any travel: is it concrete and worth it, or are you paying for a logo.
Many attendees find sober retreats helpful because they provide community support, emotional healing, and tools for maintaining sobriety.
No. Many sober retreats welcome people in recovery, sober-curious travelers, wellness seekers, and anyone looking for an alcohol-free experience built around connection, rest, adventure, or personal growth.
