200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Guatemala 2027 | The Bigger Life YTT

Most yoga teacher trainings are built around performance. Ours is built around safety. This is a 200-hour, Yoga Alliance certified training with trauma-informed teaching and nervous system regulation woven through every day, held for three weeks at Mystical Yoga Farm, an off-grid community on the shores of Lake Atitlán, under three volcanoes.

It belongs at TSC because so many people in recovery find yoga during the hardest stretch of their lives and then want to share it. Yoga was the foundation of my own recovery, and I teach trauma-informed yoga in treatment centers and a juvenile detention center. This training gives sober and sober-curious students the tools to teach from a place of truth rather than performance, in an alcohol-free container where it’s safe to bring your whole story.

The timing is right for people planning a big step in 2027. The cohort is small, the days include ceremony, sauna, cacao, and home-grown plant-based food, and the students become each other’s people. All experience levels are welcome to apply, and monthly payment plans make it possible for more people to say yes.

Carrie Hoffman and Zach Minnich are a married couple in long-term recovery from alcohol addiction. Carrie has been sober since 2016, and Zach followed soon after. They founded Bigger Life Adventures in 2018 and have since hosted more than 100 alcohol-free yoga and adventure trips in six countries and four US states, and about 60% of their guests come back for another trip. Carrie is an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, 800-hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor, trauma-informed and teen yoga teacher (Prison Yoga Project, Yoga Ed.), Wilderness First Responder, and permitted Grand Canyon guide who runs the yoga program at Flagstaff’s juvenile detention center. Zach is a holistic nutritionist, Reiki master, Wilderness First Responder, and the plant-based chef behind the cookbook Plants on Plates. Together they ran Grand Canyon Eco Retreat for five years and have traveled to 44 countries.
