What a Trip! Breaking Bad Locations, Albuquerque, New Mexico by the Modern Day Hobo

Walter White's House Breaking Bad Tour Sober Not Mature

I am a huge fan of the show Breaking Bad, and while visiting Albuquerque, I had the chance to run around and see a number of the filming sites. It was fun to kick around the city either way, but visiting these places in person was incredible.

I want to start by first giving credit to an individual and his website for providing all of the location addresses and giving me the motivation to start this website. The website is Roaming Robert, and he did all of the work for this tour a handful of years ago; I just needed to follow his lead.

I will also write about where I stayed, which will be in the “Recent Trips” section of my site, The Modern Day Hobo, but for now, let’s get to the fun part!

Addresses will be included for each place.

The first place that I went to was Walter White’s house (of course). I read about it, but you will see that they have a fence around the property, signs to Keep Out, and what looked like a security vehicle parked in the driveway.

My understanding is that they not only get a lot of visitors but also many folks coming onto the property and, in some cases, causing damage. The next stop was Saul Goodman’s office. It’s a little strip mall, and where his office was is now a bar and restaurant, but I did notice a nail salon in the strip mall also (nice coincidence?)

It would have been nice if it was still a law office with an inflatable on the roof, but it was cool, nonetheless. What would this tour be without a stop at the car wash that Walt worked at, which ended up being their place to launder the money. It’s a Mister Car Wash now, and they were busy!

On to Hank and Marie’s house, which is in a very cool neighborhood and perched at the base of the mountain, I got a lovely view of the city on the way back down.

Everyone remembers Tuco, right? Well, this is Tuco’s Headquarters, and it is now a little cafe. It was a lovely day when I was running around, and people were sitting outside, so I took the picture from across the street. I tried not to interrupt their peace.

I completely forgot about this place, but the Dog House is where Jesse used to meet with his buddies and where he would “sling” back in the day. It was closed when I stopped by, but it looked like an interesting place.

The next stop was at a house that we all know and love. Jesse’s House. Plenty of memories of this property.

This tour wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the infamous laundry facility and, of course, the location for The Lab.

Los Pollos Hermanos is a real restaurant chain in the area, but the actual name is Twisters. When I did the initial search, Google Maps listed it as Los Pollos Hermanos on the wide view.

The final stop of my day was a drive out to the desert, to the first place where Walt and Jesse cooked, the place where Waly buried his money, and the site of the shootout that took out Hank and Gomie.

This one does not have an address because it’s out in the middle of nowhere, but here are the basic directions:

Take I-40 West to Canoncita School Rd North, then get off on Tribal Rd 7089 and be on the lookout for the unique rock formation as seen in the photos. (Click on the picture to reach the point on Canoncita School Rd.)

Once you get there, keep driving until you get to Tribal Rd 7089, turn left, and keep following that road until you see the rock formation on the left. I did not measure the distance I drove but keep your eyes open, and you will get there!

Please note: Alysse Bryson has photoshopped in the Breaking Bad RV building set. It’s been in her Amazon cart for many years now.

The drive out and back was about an hour and a half total, but it was worth every minute and every mile. This was my first time in Albuquerque and the first time I had been to New Mexico, which didn’t disappoint.
