Sober October is the one month a year when the rest of the world borrows our lifestyle for 31 days and acts like they invented it.
I say welcome. Pull up a chair. Grab a sparkling water.
First-timers, sober-curious friends, the pal with a sobriety date older than your car: this list has something for all of them. Disco candy corn. A Bill W. pillow. Rom-com matchbooks. A cheeseboard shaped like a good decision.
Fall is my favorite season, and I don’t need a cocktail to enjoy a single minute of it. Let’s shop.
Spooky Season, Sober Edition

The Billow by Clean AF Clothing
Bill W. has your back. Literally.
A custom-shaped pillow of the Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder in high-contrast, pop-art halftone, made from a vintage photo. It’s equal parts history lesson and throw pillow, and it’s the gift for your sponsor, your sponsee or the friend who quotes the Big Book at brunch.
Made to order, so give it about a week.

FUNBOY 8 FT Light-Up Halloween Pumpkin Inflatable
The only thing inflated in this house is the pumpkin. Our egos are right-sized, thank you.
Plug it in and it self-inflates in minutes, then glows all night with built-in lights. Eight feet of polka-dot pumpkin is how you become the house every trick-or-treater talks about at school on Monday.

2.5 ft. Candy Corn Disco Décor by Ashland
Sugar high. Zero hangover. Disco forever.
I own this one, and it is going to be VERY tempting to leave it out until Valentine’s Day. Giant disco candy? Yes, please. It’s the happiest thing in my office cottage. (aka the curator cottage) Sober Curator Pro Tip: You do have to visit the store IRL to snab this one.

Halloween Classic Cheese & CharBOOterie Board by Boarderie
The only board meeting I never skip.
Chef-made and delivered fully arranged with artisan cheeses, meats and pairings on a reusable wood board. Show up to the Halloween party with this and nobody will notice you’re holding a ginger beer. They’ll be too busy fighting over the brie.

VHS Match Box Set: Rom Com by A Shop of Things
I’ll have what she’s having. (It’s a sparkling water.)
Six matchbooks designed like rom-com VHS tapes: “When Harry Met Sally,” “Notting Hill,” “Pretty Woman,” “She’s the Man,” “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and “10 Things I Hate About You.” They live inside a tiny pink retro TV box. Light a candle, cue the Meg Ryan, cancel your plans. For those of you who travel with matches or have frequent house guests, these will be a fun surprise in any bathroom.
Heads up: Matches can’t ship internationally.

Mini Vinyl Record Player
The tiny thing that will take up a surprisingly large amount of your life.
I went down a rabbit hole so you don’t have to. Mini vinyl record players are having a moment, and if you’ve seen the mystery balls at Target, you’ve probably wondered if they’re worth it. I put Miniverse and Mini Brands head to head and the results were interesting.
This is the gift for the music lover, the collector, the person who still has their original record player and three crates of vinyl in their living room. Or the person who just thinks tiny things are extremely funny. Both are valid.

Cozy Era Essentials
Aura House Smart Diffusers & Fragrance Oils
The house smells like fall. Not like last night.
My go-to host gift, because it keeps working long after the party ends. Pet-safe, app-controlled and the kind of present that makes people text you a week later. I put it through its paces in my full review.

BAREFOOT DREAMS CozyChic® Throw
Your Friday night just got a lot cozier.
You can never go wrong with gifting a cozy throw or indulging for one for yourself. Luxuriously soft against your skin and effortlessly elegant in your space, our CozyChic® Throw is a celebrity favorite for good reason.
Happy Every Hour

BERO Non-Alcoholic Beer – 24 Pack Variety, 4 Flavors
Yes, THAT Tom Holland. Spider-Man himself launched a non-alcoholic beer brand and honestly? It slaps.
BERO comes in a 24-pack variety with four flavors, which means Sober October just got a lot more interesting for the beer lovers in your life. Or, you know, for yourself. No shame in the self-gift game.
(We reviewed it. Read what we actually think before you buy: BERO Edge Hill Hazy IPA)

Tomonotomo Tobala Non-Alcoholic Distilled Agave Spirit
Oaxacan Ingredients. World-Class Cocktails.
The Sober Curator doesn’t just write about people doing interesting things in the sober space. Sometimes we have them on the podcast, fall a little bit in love with what they’re building, and then tell everyone we know about it.
Tomonotomo’s Tobala is an award-winning non-alcoholic distilled agave spirit, handcrafted from 100% rare Tobala agave sourced from the mountains of Oaxaca and roasted in a pit oven. Not a syrup. Not a mocktail mix. An actual spirit, made the way spirits are supposed to be made, just without the alcohol.
(There’s a difference. A big one. And your taste buds will know it immediately.)
This is what you put on your bar cart when you want people to stop asking if you “miss the good stuff.” You hand them a glass of this and let it answer for you.

The New Vintage Non-Alcoholic Wine Kit by Raising the Bar
The New Vintage kit — it was specially curated by Sarah Kate of Some Good Clean Fun in collaboration with Raising the Bar.
Consider this your personal wine curation for the month. Open a bottle with dinner, keep something crisp and bubbly chilled in the fridge, geek out over the thoughtfully chosen ingredients in your glass, or let your favorite red breathe during an overdue catch-up with a dear friend. There’s still so much to love about the ritual of wine, all without alcohol.
This limited-edition box brings together a selection of non-alcoholic favorites for intentional drinking and discovery, with Giesen 0% Spritz Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé slim cans as the featured hero products. (Two of my favs!)
Supplementing Something Extra

Fall Wardrobe, Upgraded

Dylan Platform Clog by Crocs
Walk the dog like it’s a runway.
There is NO reason not to look cute and be comfortable while you’re walking the dog or running errands. The platform does the heavy lifting.

FAVORITE DAUGHTER Collegiate Sweatshirt
You got sober, so of COURSE you’re the favorite daughter now.
Cozy, oversized and quietly smug. Wear it to Thanksgiving. Say nothing. Let it speak for you.

FREE PEOPLE Cruise Aviator Glasses
Shades for the mornings you wake up remembering everything.
A statement take on the classic aviator: thick frames, a straight brow and gradient tinted lenses for a goggle-ish look that turns heads. Fall sun is still sun.

Adidas Taekwondo Mei Shoes
Pretty enough for the gala. Comfy enough for the gate.
I can’t get enough of ballet sneakers right now. Stylish, comfortable and made for travel days when you want to look put-together in the TSA line.

Gucci Giglio Large Tote Bag
You’re always going to have baggage, so why not make it look cute?
The splurge on the list. Big enough for a laptop, a cardigan and three NA beers for the road. I am obsessed with this bag. It’s a perfect carry on for travel.
Love the suitcase too? ShopTheSoberCurator.com

Annie Bag in Ripple Burnt Sienna
Fuzzy bag. Clear head.
A plush faux fur handbag in two sizes, in the most autumn color ever named. It’s basically a cozy blanket for your stuff.
Get Out of Town

BÉIS The Starter Set
Pack light. You already put down the heaviest thing.
Shay Mitchell’s travel brand bundles two cult favorites: the Weekender Bag and the Carry-On Roller, at 15% off together. The Weekender has a bottom compartment for shoes or laundry and a trolley sleeve that slides right over the roller handle. Sober retreat, girls’ weekend, spontaneous road trip: covered.

What is Sober October? Sober October is a monthlong challenge to skip alcohol for all 31 days of October. It started in the U.K. as a charity fundraiser and now draws sober-curious participants worldwide.
What’s a good gift for someone doing Sober October? Pick something that makes the month more fun instead of focusing on what they’re skipping: a cozy host gift like an Aura House diffuser, a Halloween cheese board for parties, or a monthly subscription like The Sober Curator Mixtape.
What’s a good gift for someone in long-term recovery? Gifts that nod to recovery culture land best with long-timers. The Bill W. pillow from Clean AF Clothing is a standout for sponsors and sponsees.
Are these gifts alcohol-free? Yes. Nothing in this guide contains alcohol or promotes drinking.
