“Mood swings, mood swings, mood swings.”
That opening lyrics sets the tone — or should I say vibration — for Gucci’s latest short film (33 minutes), The Tiger, directed by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn. It’s part fashion film, part existential therapy session, and part psychedelic fever dream… wrapped in couture. And I am here for it. Thanks to Kate Vitela for mentioning this film to me; I might have missed it otherwise.
The Sober Standout: Demi Moore
Front and center is Demi Moore, radiating elegance and hard-earned wisdom. As a woman who’s been open about her recovery journey, Moore brings something deeper to the screen — a stillness that reads like sobriety personified.
The Gucci Family — Beautifully Unhinged
The film’s cast is stacked with A-listers — Edward Norton, Ed Harris, Elliot Page, Keke Palmer, Alia Shawkat, Julianne Nicholson, Heather Lawless, Ronny Chieng, Kendall Jenner, and Alex Consani — each one playing their part in a futuristic family dinner that feels equal parts therapy session and acid flashback.
The plot? Think The Substance, but make it Gucci. Adaptogens and conscious-bliss elixirs— surprise! — someone uses these elixirs to spike the cocktails. (Friendly reminder: drugging people without consent = not chic.) The result? A cosmic come-apart that leaves you questioning what’s real, what’s chemical, and whether the aliens foreshadowed in those subtle visuals are already among us. (I’m looking at you, 3IAtlas.)
The Message Beneath the Madness
Fashion has always been a mirror, but The Tiger holds it up to our spiritual insecurities — our obsession with achieving perfection and feeling “good,” no matter the cost. The game of smoke and mirrors to make everything on the outside look flawless, in hopes that no one will peer into our insides. What happens when even wellness culture gets intoxicated? When our supplements start to look suspiciously like escapism in a prettier bottle?
The film doesn’t answer this question; it asks. And that’s where the magic (and madness) lies.

The Aesthetic — Brown Carpet, Baby
I watched the deep brown chocolate luxe carpet premiere at Milan Fashion Week, and let me tell you — it was pure Gucci theater. (Thank you, Fashion Feed) Chic statements ruled the night, and yes, it appears big hair and bangs are back (Demi Moore’s fringe deserves its own IMDB credit).
The Takeaway
The Tiger is more than a film; it’s a sensory trip through identity, illusion, and the fragile performance of control — all dressed in La Famiglia’s luxe silhouettes.
So… what’s your interpretation of The Tiger’s ending?
Drop your thoughts in the comments or DM us on Instagram. Was it a warning? A love letter? An elixir-induced allegory wrapped in velvet?
Either way, it’s The Substance — but make it Gucci.
