We trip as often as possible because travel is our jam! Here, you’ll find insider information, sober travel tips, and honest reviews from a sober perspective. Some of the things that excite or intrigue me while I am traveling are animals, wildlife conservation, sobriety, innovative ways people are trying to keep Earth habitable for humans, learning about world geography and cultures, getting outside to run, swim, kayak, hike, walk and do yoga; and old cemeteries and churches where history, art, and spirituality come together.

Teresa Bergen had the great good fortune to quit drinking very young and has enjoyed long-term sobriety. She lives in Portland, Oregon but travels all over the world as a travel writer. She also works in the oral history field, helping to document and preserve history.
Her articles have appeared in many online and print publications, including the South China Morning Post, Saturday Evening Post, Delta Sky, MSN and USA Today Outdoors Wire. She’s the author of The Sober Travel Handbook, Easy Portland Outdoors and Transcribing Oral History, and co-author of Historic Cemeteries of Portland, Oregon. She also created the character of Sober Cat, a hairless nonbinary Sphynx who drank to hide their feeling of not fitting in, but now lives an amazing sober life.
