A Sober Travel Handbook Presentation + Book Signing with Teresa Bergen
If you’ve been hanging around The Sober Curator for any length of time, you already know Teresa Bergen. She’s our Senior Travel Contributor, an award-winning travel writer based in Portland, and the author of “Sober Travel Handbook: Navigating the World Alcohol-Free” (Microcosm Publishing), which won the Society of American Travel Writers Western Chapter’s Non-Traditional Writing Award. Teresa has been traveling sober for several decades and writing about it with the kind of grounded honesty that makes you feel like you’re on the road with a wise friend who also packed snacks.
At this event, Teresa is going to talk about the behind-the-scenes research that went into making her travel handbook, from the dozens of interviews she conducted with nondrinking travelers and addiction experts to the creation of her alter ego, Sober Cat, who tells the story in pictures and keeps things light when the topic gets heavy. She’ll also be signing copies, so come ready to get your book personalized.
