Join the Movement: Mobilize Recovery’s Day of Service is Here to Change Lives!

Are you ready to make a difference? Mobilize Recovery’s Day of Service is gearing up to bring communities together in a nationwide celebration of recovery, empowerment, and connection. This September and October, people across the country will come together to spark positive change, and you can be part of this incredible movement!

    Community. Collaboration. Connection.

Mobilize Recovery has built an unshakeable national community of individuals touched by substance use and mental health issues. The secret to their success? Collaboration! When we join forces, our impact is greater, and this Day of Service is the perfect example of how grassroots initiatives can lead to monumental change.

What is the Mobilize Recovery Day of Service?

Imagine a constellation of connected public service events lighting up the nation. From coast to coast, during September and October, people in recovery and their allies will roll up their sleeves and get to work on projects that make a real difference. Whether it’s a neighborhood cleanup or a school supply drive, every action counts.

    How Can You Get Involved?

The beauty of the Day of Service is its flexibility. Whether you’re planning a small gathering or a large community event, your contribution matters. Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

    • Resource Drives: Collect food, supplies, or resources for local organizations in need
    • Community Cleanups: Organize a neighborhood or park cleanup to beautify your local area
    • Animal Shelter Volunteering: Help out at a local animal shelter—pets are powerful allies in recovery!
    • School Supply Drives: Support local teachers and students with much-needed school supplies
    • Support Local Recovery Groups: Partner with local recovery or harm reduction organizations for supply drives
    • Youth Engagement: Host prevention or engagement events for the youth in your community
    • Physical Activities: Organize a recovery-oriented walk, yoga class, skate, or other fun activities
    • Raise Awareness: Create events that focus on raising awareness about substance use and mental health recovery

    Know the Facts

In some way, we’ve all been touched by substance use and mental health recovery. Let’s take a moment to reflect on these powerful stats:

    • 21.3 Million: That’s the number of American adults who perceived ever having a substance use problem and considered themselves to be in recovery or to have recovered. (SAMHSA)
    • 40.8 Million: That’s the number of American adults who perceived ever having a mental health issue and considered themselves to be in recovery or to have recovered. (SAMHSA)
    • 7 out of 10: The majority of adults who had a substance use problem now consider themselves to be recovering or in recovery. (SAMHSA)
    • 2 out of 3: Most adults who faced mental health problems now see themselves as recovering or in recovery. (SAMHSA)
    • 400% ROI: Every dollar spent on substance use disorder treatment yields a 400% return on investment in healthcare cost savings. (Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health)
    A Movement That Matters

Since 2019, Mobilize Recovery has brought together people in recovery and their allies to advocate for policy change and awareness. This growing “constituency of consequence” is passionate about substance use and mental health recovery. Now, they’re inviting everyone—businesses, nonprofits, federal agencies, recovery groups, and more—to join in hosting events that foster positive change.

    Let’s Make a Difference

Mobilize Recovery’s Day of Service is more than just a series of events; it’s a movement. It’s a chance to show the world that recovery is possible and that together, we can build stronger, healthier communities. So, gather your friends, family, and colleagues, and let’s make this Day of Service one for the books!

Visit recoverydayofservice.org for more details on how to get involved and to see a list of events near you. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work—together, we can change lives!
