Partake Brewing comes to us from our neighbors to the north, straight out of Alberta, Canada. Their story is unique and many non-alcoholic craft beer enthusiast credit them with starting this ball rolling. In 2017, they launched a Kickstarter campaign to brew and distribute their own non-alcoholic IPA. Not only was it a hit, Partake gained instant notoriety in the non-alcoholic beer world and began worldwide distribution in less than a year. Their claim to fame flagship beer is the IPA weโre reviewing today, and to top it all off, it clocks in at only 10 calories! Letโs give it a try!
How Does it Pour?
Right off the top, you get the sense that these guys know what they are doing over at Partake Brewing, as the beer pours a beautiful dark copper color and provides a creamy head. The bubbles of carbonation pop up into the air, releasing the aroma of hops and a balanced malt blend.
How Does it Taste?
After letting the head settle, Partake Brewingโs IPA comes in hot with flavor but doesnโt overpower you with heftiness. Right from the start, you get hops on your tongue. The taste is familiar, yet gentle and coats your tongue the way a nice IPA does. Contrary to what you may think from the head and the color, the mouth feel is not heavy and matches the light, crisp finish. This is where you can really taste the fact that youโre only getting 10 calories.
Partake Brewing is the first NA craft beer I found on my search back in 2018, and I have enjoyed them as much as I can. I went from only being able to find them on obscure Canadian websites to liquor stores throughout all of North America. Partake IPA only holds a 2.8 out of 5 on Untappd, but if what youโre looking for is a full hop flavor with a low-calorie finish, this is the right brew for you and what you do to woo the voodoo from your hoo-hoo. You know what I mean?

Movie Night with The Sober Curator: There are endless topics to discuss, questions to ponder, revelations to be shared. However, Iโm still wrestling with what and how to write about this film. We all know by now that although Anthony Bourdain put on a great front and appeared to be living his best life, he wasnโt. Things were not ok for him. Roadrunner sheds light on the manic behavior and obsessive tendencies which only a few witnessed. Listening to his friends describe the events of his last few years is heartbreaking. When you look at the holistic picture it seems obvious that Bourdain was completely unraveling. The problem seems to be that he did not allow anyone to get close enough to see this. Itโs a tough reality thatโs all too common and difficult to discuss. Read more about it HERE.
