Happy Every Hour With Justin Lamb: Athletic Brewing Limited Edition Non-Alcoholic Craft Brews That Will Knock Your Socks Off!

Athletic Brewing is a long-familiar name here, already. If you haven’t checked it out yet, read my review of Free Wave, their Hazy IPA, and my all-time favorite IPA in the NA craft beer world. Athletic is also one of the only non-alcoholic craft breweries that regularly makes limited releases, similar to traditional alcoholic breweries.

While there are new beers available all the time, this time around, we are going to sample Athletic Brewing’s Two Trellises, Lemon Radler, Chocolate Cherry Stout, and Nature Nut. These spectacular options range in color, flavor, and variety and are sure to knock your socks off!

Two Trellises

This limited-edition Athletic Brewing IPA is made with two hops and two hops only. A mild hop aroma off the top is matched by an even milder color. The light-colored beer offers little head and a light mouthfeel, while still offering a hoppy taste down the center of your tongue. A great light choice for hop lovers that don’t want anything too heavy

Lemon Radler

If you were ever a fan of a shandy, a lemonade-beer mix, you’ll love Athletic Brewing’s take on the idea with their Lemon Radler. Virtually no head on top of an apple juice-colored beer is what you get with looks, but immediately the lemon aroma is the big takeaway. The flavor is that of a summer day mating with a light beer. You’ll get a lot of lemon flavor, a light sour burst, and a nice finish with a very light mouthfeel.

Chocolate Cherry Stout

Exactly what you’d expect from Athletic Brewing if you’ve had their All Out stout, this dark gem packs a punch of flavor. The scent of tart cherries and dark chocolate hang above your glass and the black beer. The flavor matches on different levels, tasting heavier on the tart cherries, but light on chocolate. I would prefer it to be a little more chocolatey, but that’s just me. Like every other non-alcoholic stout I have tried, it is still light in mouthfeel and is sure to warm you up on these upcoming fall and winter evenings.

Nature Nut

In a collaboration with Justin’s Peanut Butter, Athletic Brewing has packed in a huge amount of peanuts into their typical stout recipe. The scent of peanut butter hangs in the air and immediately fills your mouth in every crevice. The dark beer is light in mouthfeel, still, and does not hold much of a head. I would like a heavier feel from a stout, but this peanut butter flavor from Justin’s is to die for!
