Early sobriety is hard. Early sobriety while packing lunches, running carpool and pretending you’re fine at school pickup is another level.
The Sober Mom Collective built Grounded for exactly that mom. It’s a three-month program for women who understand both recovery and motherhood, and it’s built on the belief that nobody should have to figure out either one alone. My son was nine when I got sober and social media was just getting started. Pretty sure I was hanging out with Tom on MySpace. I would have given anything to have access to a group like then in early sobriety.
What’s Inside
Grounded has two parts:
- Weekly group coaching. Sessions cover the science behind alcohol use, building community, recognizing personal barriers, accountability, and putting what you learn to work in everyday life.
- A weekly peer-led support meeting. This is a separate space where moms can talk honestly about where they are and what’s going on in their lives.
I like that pairing. Coaching gives you the tools. The meeting gives you the people. Early sobriety needs both.
The details
The first cohort runs Oct. 5 through Dec. 21, 2026. Group coaching meets Mondays at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). The peer-led meeting meets Thursdays at 10 a.m. ET (7 a.m. PT).
Grounded costs $150 for all three months and includes a full Sober Mom Collective membership. That works out to about $12.50 a week for coaching, a meeting and a membership. In my book, that’s one of the best deals in recovery right now.
