Sobriety and Met Gala don’t usually go hand in hand. This year, we watched the red carpet coverage and curated a list of every sober celeb who walked the carpet. Here is our list of the best-dressed people. YES, that is right, this is The Sober Curator’s 2024 Met Gala Sober Celeb Best Dressed List:
1. Zendaya wore Maison Margiela at the 2024 Met Gala. She decided not to drink when she turned 21 in 2017 and has been dry for seven years.
2. Demi Moore wears Harris Reed at the 2024 Met Gala. Demi has been sober for 8 years.
3. Demi Lovato has been open about her recovery journey. After a very public relapse, Demi is two and a half years alcohol free and nearly six years sober from a substance use disorder. Demi Lovato attended last night’s Met Gala and turned heads in the silver gown.
4. Jack Harlow has been alcohol-free for three years. He attended last night’s Met Gala looking quite dapper in a silver suit.
5. After the death of her brother in 1992, Queen Latifah turned to substances to cope with his loss. In 2002, she was arrested for possession, and she made the choice to enter into recovery. She has been in recovery for 22 years and looked absolutely fabulous last night.
6. Lana Del Rey wears Alexander McQueen at the 2024 Met Gala. Lana entered recovery in 2003 and is celebrating 21 years of sobriety this year.
7. Nicki Minaj wears Marni at the 2024 Met Gala. The Super Bass singer ditched alcohol last April and is celebrating one year of sobriety.
8. Camila Mendes and Joseph Altuzarra attend the 2024 Met Gala. Camila is in recovery for disordered eating and has been candid about her struggles with her fans over the years.
9. Shakira wears Carolina Herrera and Cartier at the 2024 Met Gala. Shakira completely abstains from alcohol. She also does not smoke or drink caffeine. When she was 2 years old, her older brother was killed by a drunk driver. She wrote a song about the tragic loss and its impact on her life. She embodies #soberissexy, proving you don’t need alcohol to have fun, dance, or get on stage.
