Imagine what it would be like if, in early sobriety, you could go to concerts, football games, tailgates, and festivals and sit in a section with only sober people. People who choose to live a zero-proof life but still love to go out and enjoy life. No one is loudly talking, and no one is spilling beer on you.  This is now a reality thanks to Duke Rumely, Founder of Sober AF Entertainment.

    Sober Sections at Non-Sober Events

Sober AF Entertainment acts as a voice for the sober community by creating Sober Sections at non-sober events. They also connect the Sober AF community with existing sober support groups.  The goal is to promote sober sections, sober tailgates, and sober support event groups at non-sober events.

Rumely got sober in 1998 but still enjoyed going to festivals. He was fortunate to find a support group that held check-in meetings for sober people during show intermissions. Then, Rumley’s teenage daughter called from a concert, asking for a ride home because everyone was drunk and high. He knew he had to do something to create a SAFE, Sober AF, FUN environment for all. And it’s working!

Sober Attendees Feel Safe and Supported

To date, SAFE’s 68 live & virtual sober events have brought together over 4,100 live & 42,000 virtual attendees! Numbers are important, but success is measured by how attendees and participants feel. SAFE and supported at non-sober events.

The really cool part is that YOU can join the movement as a sober event host for YOUR community. SAFE provides a game plan for creating sober-friendly space at tailgates and inside the venue. In some cases, you can even partner with the venue to obtain discounted or free tickets for your attendees. SAFE promotes all approved events on its national website and social media.
