Sober Comedy Show LA

Laughter is a universal language, but when it comes to recovery, it’s also a healing balm. That’s the essence of Party On! Sober Comedy Show is a monthly event that brings together some of the best comedians in the business for a night of humor and celebration. Designed to resonate with the Sober Curator community and sober comedians, this show isn’t just about the jokes but the triumph of the human spirit.

Why Comedy and Recovery Go Hand in Hand

From Richard Pryor to Russell Brand, comedians have often turned personal struggles into sources of humor. For many in recovery, laughter provides a much-needed release—a way to process and transcend life’s challenges. Party On! Sober Comedy Show is more than just a night of laughs; it’s a testament to the power of humor in overcoming addiction.

Meet The Venue – The Crow at Bergamot Station

Nestled within the Bergamot Station Arts Center, The Crow offers an intimate setting perfect for comedy nights. Located at 2525 Michigan Ave., F4, Santa Monica, CA 90404, this venue is easily accessible via various modes of transportation. And yes, Los Angeles, we hear you—there’s free parking!

Getting to The Crow

The primary entrance to the parking lot is on Michigan Ave. Drive past Birdie G’s restaurant until the road dead ends in the Bergamot Station Arts Center parking lot. Park close to Building E, walk towards it, then turn left and find us behind Building E. The Metro Expo Line stops at the 26th Street/Bergamot station for those using public transport, making your trip even more convenient.

What Makes Party On! Special?

This comedy show features headlining comics from HBO, Netflix, and late-night television, all bringing unique perspectives on sobriety and recovery. However, the humor is universal, ensuring that every comedy fan will find something to love.

Featured Comedians

Party On! showcases an incredible lineup of talent:

  • Kim Clevenger – Known for her sharp wit and engaging storytelling, Kim brings a fresh perspective to the stage.
  • Laura House – With appearances on HBO and late-night shows, Laura’s humor touches on life experiences that resonate with everyone.
  • Mary Kennedy – An industry veteran, Mary’s comedic style is relatable and hilarious.
  • Paul Jacek – Paul’s blend of humor and honesty makes him a crowd favorite.
  • Cathy Ladman – A seasoned comedian whose career spans decades, Cathy’s take on sobriety is insightful and humorous.
  • Graham Elwood – With a background in entertainment and podcasting, Graham’s performances are always a hit.
  • Jayson Speter – Bringing his unique flair to the stage, Jayson’s comedy is a must-see.

Directions and Parking

We can’t emphasize this enough—make sure you enter the parking lot from Michigan Ave. Once you pass Birdie G’s, continue until you reach the end of the road. Free parking is available at Bergamot Station Arts Center, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.

Sold Out? Not a Problem!

Even if the show is sold out, don’t lose hope. Arrive early and get in the standby line. If there are any no-shows 15 minutes after the scheduled start, their tickets will be sold to those waiting. It’s a bit of a gamble, but where’s the fun without a little risk?

Fun Facts About The Crow

  • Birdie G’s Partnership – Located directly behind Birdie G’s, the restaurant offers a 10% discount to performers and ticket holders. Make a reservation and enjoy a fine dinner before the show.
  • Local Brews – The Crow curates a selection of beers and hard seltzers from local breweries, particularly those owned by women, queer folks, or BIPOC communities.
  • Safe Space – With security guards on-site 24/7, The Crow ensures a safe and inclusive environment.

Community and Connection

Being part of the Sober Curator community means more than just attending events; it’s about connecting with like-minded individuals who understand and support each other. Party On! is designed to foster these connections through the shared experience of laughter.

More About The Crow

Founded in 2022 by Nicole Blaine, The Crow is more than just a comedy club; it’s a cultural hub for diverse voices and perspectives. With a mission to make the world a better place through storytelling, comedy, music, and education, The Crow is committed to creating a rich and inclusive comedy culture.

Mission and Values

At The Crow, inclusivity and diversity are at the heart of everything we do. Our venue is safe for all ages, abilities, genders, and communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. We believe that comedy can be a powerful tool for social progress, and we are dedicated to fostering a space where different perspectives can be shared and appreciated.

Conclusion

Party On! Sober Comedy Show is more than just an event; it celebrates recovery, resilience, and the power of laughter. Whether you’re part of the Sober Curator community or simply a fan of great comedy, this is a night you won’t want to miss.
