Big Drop Brewing Company comes to us from Chicago, Illinois. With a decent selection of non-alcoholic beers available and a unique look, you’re sure to find them closer than you think. Their cans have a black top and their labels hold more info than you see on most beers, non-alcoholic or not.
The first thing you’ll notice with Big Drop Brewing Company’s Paradiso IPA is the label. Like some alcoholic beers, you get the full rundown of what to expect and what you get inside. First, you get an IBU rating, something rare and perhaps the only NA can with one on it. The IBU number is the bitterness of the beer. The higher the number, the more bitter it is. The IBU number for Paradiso IPA is 42. This tells you that you can expect a good punch of hoppy bitterness. This is also balanced by the other thing you’ll notice on the can, which is the hop listing, telling you exactly what’s inside.
How Does it Pour?
The beer pours with a stark white head and a flavorful aroma of hops and citrus. It’s a light golden color and reads of a light feel. This is quickly accompanied by the mouth feel as you get it into your gullet hole. Big Drop Brewing Paradiso IPA hits you with a fruity citrus taste and keeps it cool in your mouth, reforming the head in a foamy party of hops and citrus on your tongue. The lack of heaviness helps if you plan on having a couple. You know what else helps? The fact that it’s non-alcoholic. See what I did there?
How Does it Taste?
Overall, it’s a nice light IPA with hints of sweet citrus. Untappd users have given this beer a 3.04 out of 5. The company also recently rebranded the beer to be called Paradiso Citra IPA, apparently emphasizing their use of Citra hops and the citrus flavors you get on all corners of your mouth.
