Atomas Brewing Alturas NA Golden Ale Brings You Citrus & Malt Aromas That Don’t Disappoint

Atmos Brewing Company hales from Hailey, Idaho, and is a subsidiary of Sawtooth Brewing. They have a decent selection of NA beers, though their distribution is still a step behind a lot of other NA breweries that are continuing to expand right now. We’ve previously featured their Kora Double Hopped IPA, and they are one of the few NA breweries out there with an Oktoberfest available if you can find it.

This week, we are trying Atmos Brewing’s Alturas NA Golden Ale. This should be another nice break from all the IPAs I have been shoving in your face over the summer. So crack open this 16 oz. can with me and join my contemplation about when they’re going to start making NA 22 oz. cans, and indulge in the expectations that come with a Golden Ale.

How Does it Pour?

From the snap of the can, you can immediately smell the aromas of citrus and roasted malt. The scents from Alturas NA Golden from Atmos Brewing are reminiscent of the olden days of drinking full octane Blue Moons and other miscellaneous white ales and golden ales. The beer pours with a crisp white head and mine poured with an extremely large head. While this is typically only a single batch issue, I hate an over-carbonated beer.

How Does it Taste?

Once settled, it was ready to drink and those citrus and malt aromas didn’t disappoint. Atmos Brewing definitely brought the citrus-forward and it was making me miss those early days of spring, which also made me feel like I was reviewing this at the wrong time of year. Oops. Either way, that light mouth feel, subtle malt, and rich citrus taste are sure to delight any fan of a golden ale or a white ale.

Untappd gives this beer a 3.38 out of 5, which is the second-highest rating for all Atmos Brewing beers. Being a bit of a hophead, myself, I would probably shoot this down a bit more, but to each their own. As always, go out there and try it for yourself.
