Untitled Art, out of Waunakee, Wisconsin, started in 2016 and began brewing beer and creating art. They collaborate with artists to design beautiful pieces of artwork to put on each can. With a wide distribution across the U.S., there is a high likelihood that you can find a variety of Untitled Art Non-Alcoholic beers somewhere near you! Be aware, however, that they brew both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers.
This week’s beer is a Watermelon Gose. A Gose is a sour wheat beer typically made with an extra bit of salt, either from the water used during the brewing processed or added later. American Goses also typically have some fruit base, be it citrus, or otherwise, like this delicious Watermelon Gose by Untitled Art.
How Does it Pour?
Right out of the gate, this beer screams watermelon. Untitled Art made sure to make that clear in its authentic and thick watermelon color with hints of the pinkish-red in the head of the beer, as well. The beer offers a thick, creamy head that pushes an aromatic bouquet of fresh-cut watermelon right into your nose. It literally looks like you threw a fresh watermelon in a blender.
How Does it Taste?
The flavor of Untitled Art’s Watermelon Gose surprises you right from the tip of your tongue to the back of your throat. The heavy-headed beer carries its weight between your lips for a full-bodied mouth-feel. The hint of sour hits the back of your tongue, but the immediate taste you expect in watermelon is not what you get. Instead, your mouth is filled with a happy baby made from the mama watermelon and the daddy malt. It’s a perfect malty watermelon baby. We’ll call him Mel.
For those looking for a refreshing summer drink that doesn’t cause the hangovers you hate, this Watermelon Gose by Untitled Art is going to be a hit, for sure. Untappd gives this beer a 3.93 out of 5, and in the world of just NA beers, it could probably be a close contender for a 5-star rating. Bravo to the folks at Untitled Art and bravo to you, the reader, cause without you, these words are meaningless.
