Do You Have NA Lagers On the Brain? Get Gruvi!

The variety continues as we try another one of Gruvi’s outstanding group of beverages. Gruvi comes to us from Colorado and incorporates all sorts of non-alcoholic beverages into its catalog, including wines and sparkling. Here, though, we focus on the side of Gruvi that I think is the best: their NA beer selection. Let’s crack a can and smack a man and get to drinking this stuff, huh?

This week we are drinking Golden by Gruvi. With little to no descriptions on the can, outside of what you just read, the expectations are that I guess this is a golden ale…maybe a lager? I don’t know, but I will find out, dammit! When you crack the can, roasted malts have a slight aroma. The scent is specific to many mainstream NAs like O’Doul’s, Bud Zero, or Coors Edge. The similarities continue when you pour this little guy into a glass and get an extra filtered, pale-yellow color and a crisp white head.

With lagers on the brain, Gruvi begins to check the boxes of every basic bitch beer out there. Light, malty, balanced, light mouthfeel. This means no offense. There is a reason Budweiser makes so much money every year (outside of alcoholism). There is undoubtedly a market for the flavor profiles that standard ass lagers offer, and this is one of those beers. So, if that’s your market, you’re in luck! Next time you see a Busch NA on the shelf, grab one of these instead.

Untappd gives Golden by Gruvi a 3.2 out of 5. In the lager category, that feels about right, but overall, I think I prefer beers with something that sets them apart from their competition. See for yourself and explore the WIDE selection of non-alcoholic beverages Gruvi offers to us cool folks. Keep your beans clean. Talk to you later!
