George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman gave the world Casamigos tequila in 2013, sold it to Diageo for a billion dollars in 2017, and apparently spent the years since asking themselves: what if we did that again but for people who don’t drink?
The answer is Crazy Mountain. A premium non-alcoholic lager dropping in 2026 that wants to be your cold-one-without-consequences moment. And yes, the name is absolutely giving Yellowstone. The rugged mountain aesthetic. The “live wide open” tagline. The very deliberate cowboy-adjacent energy. The made in America stamp. All that’s missing is a Dutton family cameo and a couple of dramatic sunsets over Montana. If Beth Dutton cracked one of these open on the porch instead of a whiskey, we’d honestly respect it.
What’s Actually In the Can
Crazy Mountain comes in two varieties: Original (a classic lager without the alcohol) and Lime. Each 12 oz can runs about 65 calories, which is the kind of detail that makes you feel very smug at a backyard barbecue.
What sets it apart on the craft side is how it’s made. Most NA beers brew with alcohol first and strip it out later, which tends to take the flavor with it. Crazy Mountain skips that step entirely, building the beer to stay non-alc from start to finish. The result is supposed to be cleaner and truer to what a lager should taste like.
Gerber described it this way: “Something real, refreshing and crafted for the way we actually live today.”
Coming from the guy who co-created one of the best-selling tequilas of all time, that’s not nothing.
The Morning After Is Kind of the Whole Point
“We wanted to create a beer that lets you enjoy the moment, as well as the morning after,” Gerber said.
For those of us who know exactly what it feels like to enjoy neither, that line hits different.
Whether you’re sober, sober-curious, or just deeply over the way alcohol makes Tuesdays feel, Crazy Mountain is making a case that you don’t have to opt out of the ritual. You just get to keep the next morning too.
Crazy Mountain is rolling out across select U.S. markets in 2026 with a national expansion to follow. Find it at crazymountain.com.
