On June 10th, Brooklyn’s only fully zero-proof bar, Mockingbird, buzzed with energy as hospitality pros, beverage insiders, and media gathered for a vibrant post-BCB after party hosted by Third Place Bar in collaboration with the Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA). Although not officially affiliated with Bar Convent Brooklyn, this independently organized happy hour provided a much-needed space for connection, celebration, and a glimpse into what the alcohol-free future of hospitality looks like.
Guests sipped on expertly crafted non-alcoholic drinks while DJ Mark Lafaro spun an all-vinyl disco set that kept the vibes upbeat and retro-cool. Standout pours came from event supporters like Abstinence Spirits, For Bitter For Worse, and Momentum Brewery — each offering complex, adult-leaning alternatives to traditional cocktails.
Two drink highlights stood out:
- Abstinence Blood Orange Aperitif delivered a bold, bittersweet experience reminiscent of classic Italian amaros. With blood orange at its heart and layers of African wormwood, clove, and cinchona bark, it was perfect over ice or in a zero-proof spritz.
- Eva’s Spritz by For Bitter For Worse was another crowd favorite — a tart, rhubarb-forward, citrusy aperitif made with organic ingredients and no artificial nonsense. Sparkling, refreshing, and elevated, it offered a lively, booze-free buzz.
Attendees also enjoyed light bites, warm conversation, and a glimpse into the fast-growing world of premium non-alcoholic hospitality. With support from brands like Minus Moonshine, All The Bitter, St Buena Vida, and more, the night was a celebration of innovation, inclusivity, and good taste—no alcohol required.
For anyone curious about where the industry is heading, this event made it clear: the zero-proof movement isn’t a trend—it’s a revolution.
