Untitled Art is a familiar name here in these parts. Weโve already reviewed four of their NA brews and hereโs another delightful and decadent treat for your taste buds. Untitled Art comes to us from Waunakee, Wisconsin and everyone knows: if itโs an NA beer from Wisconsin, itโs probably good. Just like the Old Ranger used to say.
This week, weโre drinking SโMores Dark Brew by Untitled Art. I take an issue with the fact that suddenly all of the NA breweries are calling their stouts โdark beersโ instead of stouts. I donโt know who tattled on who, but itโs silly. Either way, this tasty treat by Untitled Art brings the sweet stories of the campfire from their can to your mouth (that sounds gross, unintentionally).

SโMores pour as you would expect a stout (er, um, dark beer). Itโs got a dark Coca-Cola-type color and a crisp tan head. You can immediately spot notes of vanilla and cinnamon off the top of it and thereโs no doubt itโs going to be delicious. It is surprisingly clear for a dark beer, especially one I suspect has lactose in it, but itโs not so thin and clear that you can see through it. Perhaps this was the idea Untitled Art had when they called with a dark beer instead of a stout.
The flavors blast into your mouth the second you bring this Untitled Art treat to your lips. There really is a sโmores going down your gullet and you get overwhelming flavors of chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and lactose. They really did cover all of the bases here. And where itโs sweet, itโs also light, so youโre not feeling so filled up all the time (thatโs what she said). Definitely reminiscent of nights around the bonfire and definitely reserved for a dessert beer in my opinion. May be a great cut with some spice, too.
Untappd gives SโMores by Untitled Art a whopping 3.8 out of 5. If you can ignore the sweetness, they may be right. If youโre buying this for that beer taste, even a stout flavor, you may be better off somewhere else. This belongs in the soda aisle.
