We are joined again by the ever-impressive Untitled Art. All the way from Waunakee, Wisconsin, this brewery deals in high octane beers as well as non-alcoholic beers, and let me tell you, they have this down to a science. We have previously reviewed their Juicy IPA, Chocolate Milk Stout, and Italian Pilsner, to name a few, and they have yet to disappoint, always going hard with flavor and deliciousness.
This week, we are drinking Lychee Sherbet from Untitled Art. This beer captures all of the flavors of the Lychee…fruit? Berry? What is lychee? We may never know, but we will learn very quickly that whatever lychee is, it’s fricking delicious and I have Untitled Art to thank for that discovery.
Upon the first crack of the can, the fruity scent of whatever lychee is beginning to aromatically smack your nose around. Untitled Art also does a great job of telling you it’s sour with just the scent. I don’t know what that is, maybe a certain kind of salt or something. Either way, you know just from the smell that this is going to be a little tart treat. The color in your glass may throw you off, as it tends to lean a little more towards the color of a pale ale, almost a light copper, when you may have been expecting something with a little pink tint to it because of the lychee berry fruit snack.
When this beer begins playing tonsil hockey with you, you can experience all the flavors right in the front except for one. The sour tingles on your tongue and you begin to define what a lychee berry fruity pebble might be. Untitled Art hides a little does of lactose on the back end when you swallow and get a hint of vanilla as it slithers down your gullet. I wonder what this would be like as a float with vanilla ice cream. Someone try that out and let me know if I should.
Untappd gives Lychee Sherbet by Untitled Art a 3.8 out of 5, with is actually a higher score than their full alcoholic version of the same beer!!! Holy cow! People in the NA community love this brew and I’m sure you will, too. I always recommend trying any new Untitled Art NA beers you see. They are the bee’s knees and I commend them for opening up so much into the NA space, even though they started as a regular brewery.
