    I know that it’s hard

Drinking for the day like it’s no tomorrow

    Through happiness and sorrow

Drinking for the day like you don’t want to see tomorrow

    Or see your scars

You fear what you feel when the bottle is gone

    I know that it’s hard

Wake up and take a shot like it’s Tylenol

    Drown out the pain

    Make me feel sane

    Try to bury my demons

    Thinking maybe I’ll change

    But they got the reigns

Saying, “Take just one more shot.”

Until it’s all out of range

Til’ you find yourself slipping because your body can’t hang

Now there’s nothing but pain, regrets, and shame

Because that same shot you took ain’t feeling the same

    Now you’re forced to decide

To hop off of this ride

Because you know where it’s headed

And the end of the tunnel ain’t looking too bright

    You can choose the shadows

Hide in the darkness until you become one with the night

Or you can stop trying to hide and step into the light

And by light, I mean getting sober and setting things right

Now you thinking it’s time and you gotta decide

I hope you choose you, to heal your body and mind

    Let your internal Divinity shine

    You are strong

    You are worthy

    You are loved.
