Faux Fox Black Cherry by BrewDog Will Make You Pucker!

Once again, we are being joined by BrewDog. BrewDog, as you may remember, comes to us from Columbus, Ohio, but originally from across the pond. They have a fantastic selection of non-alcoholic beers but specialize in alcoholic beers. However, they specialize in both, considering that they have an entire pub dedicated to non-alcoholic beer. I am excited to bring you the latest in a long line of limited-edition non-alcoholic beers from BrewDog.

This week we are drinking Faux Fox Black Cherry by BrewDog. Faux Fox is their flagship non-alcoholic sour beer, usually with raspberry flavor. This limited edition features black cherry instead, and I am super excited to crack the can and taste that sweet cherry…or, I guess, tart cherry. We’ll see.

How Does It Pour?

When you first crack the can of this latest release from BrewDog, the air fills with aromatic Cherry scents. The tart but sweet cherry fills the room, permeates your nose, and tickles you where you least expect it. The beer pours a beautiful pink color resembling a lovely rose or champagne with a splash of cherry juice. It’s very filtered and crystal clear, and BrewDog does a great job of advertising what they’re selling by showing you what it is.

How Does It Taste?

When you bring this pink pal to your mouth hole, bliss is discovered almost immediately. While the flagship Faux Fox from BrewDog is usually raspberry and sour, the sweetness of the cherries cuts through and brings you a plethora of delicious airy cherry right down your throat. While the beer is slightly sour, putting it into that category isn’t easy, but I don’t know where else I would put it.

Untappd gives Faux Fox Black Cherry by BrewDog a 3.6 out of 5. If it were up to me, in the category of sours in the NA space, I would put this close to a 5 with the disclaimer that if you’re looking for something extremely sour, you will be disappointed. I will throw in this anecdote: my wife loved this beer so much that she took it away from me to drink it for herself, and that never fucking happens.
