Black Friday

Black Friday is the annual start of the holiday shopping season in the U.S., featuring major retail discounts. Originally coined by 1960s Philadelphia police to describe chaotic, traffic-heavy streets, it was later rebranded to represent retailers turning a profit, or moving “into the black”.
