Jake and Adrienne are the co-founders of The Dry Goods Beverage Co. They created this space because they believe that whether you’re having alcohol or not, everyone deserves a good drink. Can we get an AMEN?!?!?
As a 2nd generation vintner in Napa Valley (Jake) and published cocktail writer (Adrienne), this team enjoys a well-crafted wine, spirit, or cocktail. But, like many of you, they found themselves wanting to cut back on alcohol for a variety of health and lifestyle reasons. Frustrated by the lack of options beyond high-sugar soda, fruit juice, and club soda, they began looking for more interesting, sophisticated products designed for grown-ups.

It seems they chose an opportune time to begin their search because, over the past year, we’ve seen an enormous rise in new non-alcoholic spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail alternatives. Located in Marin County, California, The Free Spirits Company crafts non-alcoholic spirit alternatives, including Bourbon, Gin, and Tequila. Through a process called Distillate Reconstruction, they source natural, real ingredients like American White Oak, European Juniper, and Mexican Blue Agave, then distill their essence and reconstruct the unique nose, flavor notes, and mouthfeel of the world’s great liquors. Where the alcohol would have been, Free Spirits infuses vitamins B3 and B6 along with naturally uplifting amino acids like taurine for that little something extra. Sovi got its start in California when a wine lover and a risk-taking sommelier decided to step away from their day jobs in the wine industry in Napa to pursue their latest dream of making high-quality, non-alcoholic wine. Their mission: to create a wine they would drink and so would our friends—a wine inspired by people with a heart for wine and a craving for inclusion.
They aimed to offer consumers a refreshing, non-alcoholic wine without compromising flavor or experience. In doing so, they hope to lead the industry in offering quality, non-alcoholic options for consumers that look and taste up to the level of their alcoholic peers. Novel idea? Maybe not.
