Dessert in a can, fermented with confidence.
Some kombuchas taste like they’re trying to punish you for having organs. Han’s? Han’s is here to flirt with your taste buds, compliment your outfit, and leave your gut feeling like it just got a spa day.
The flavor I tried, All Tied Up Cherry Pie, was a limited edition release in 2025, and I’m still thinking about it the way people think about summer romances or how I feel about perfect thrift-store finds. It’s one of those rare drinks that makes you pause mid-sip and go: Wait… why is this so good? Fun fact: I picked this up at my monthly stop at Sober AF Bottle Shop in Tacoma during one of their paint-and-sip events. If you’re local to the area, make sure to stop in and check them out. Looking for more sober events? We’ve got a sober events calendar featuring events coast-to-coast.
And if the rest of their lineup even approaches this level of deliciousness? Please book me a flight on Alaska Airlines (because #iflyalaska) and a calendar invite, as I’ll be busy.

🍒 The Flavor: “All Tied Up Cherry Pie”
This kombucha is jun-based, meaning it’s brewed with honey instead of cane sugar, which adds a rounder, smoother sweetness (without turning into soda cosplay).
Tasting Notes
- Tart cherry comes in first: bright, juicy, and just sharp enough to feel refreshing.
- Then you get this warm graham-like “crust” note (yes, crust), giving it that unmistakable cherry pie vibe without being cloying.
- And underneath it all, there’s a gentle honeyed softness that ties everything together like a ribbon on a bakery box.
It’s dessert-inspired, but still light and crushable, which is basically the holy grail of flavored kombucha.
🫧 Fermentation Without the Vinegar Punch
Here’s the thing about Han’s that really sets them apart: they intentionally make kombucha that’s gently fermented with no harsh vinegar flavor. And this is why I love it.
That matters because many people want kombucha’s benefits but don’t want to feel like they’re sipping salad dressing. Han’s hits that sweet spot where fermentation is present but the atmosphere is smooth, friendly, and inviting.

🎁 Packaging: Divine, Modern, and Very “Put Me in a Picnic Photo”
Let’s talk about the can for a second because… wow.
This is packaging that feels designed, not just labeled. The kind of can you:
- happily hold in public
- reuse as a pencil cup
- accidentally match your outfit to
Han’s branding has that clean, confident aesthetic that makes the drink feel premium before you even crack it open. It’s the kombucha equivalent of walking into a room and instantly knowing someone has good taste. 👩🔬🍯 The Brand Story: Dorm Closet to Full-On Cult Favorite
Han’s Kombucha didn’t start in a lab. It started in a college dorm closet.
Founder & head brewer Hannah Hendrickson (aka Han) began brewing kombucha while studying Public Health at the University of Utah, first for herself, then for friends, then for basically everyone who heard about it.
In November 2018, she sold her first batch to a local tea shop, and what began as a side hustle turned into a full-scale operation in Salt Lake City.
Now Han’s operates under HK Brewing Collective, which is women-founded/led and queer-owned, with a mission centered on community health and better-for-you beverages. Sticker collectors, make sure to check out their merch page!
Their stated mission is beautifully simple: better health and better lives, one bottle (or can) at a time.
🌈 More Than a Drink: A Whole Experience
Han’s isn’t just stocked on shelves, either. You can also grab it on draft at the HK Brewing Taproom & Bar in Salt Lake City, where they serve kombucha cocktails and build community around the brand.
That’s the kind of brand ecosystem I love: not just “buy our drink,” but “come hang out, bring a friend, and stay awhile.”
🔥 If Cherry Pie Was This Good… What Else Are They Doing?!
Based on the current flavor lineup, Han’s clearly isn’t afraid of interesting, elevated combinations. Their website features flavors like:
- Ginger Hibiscus
- Grapefruit Rosemary
- Pineapple Cactus Nectar
- Raspberry Rose
- Seasonal blends like COZY Spiced Pear and JUN BUG Blueberry Lavender
Which tells me this isn’t a company guessing its way through flavor development. This is intentional. This is curated.
⭐ Verdict
All Tied Up Cherry Pie is one of the most delightful kombuchas I’ve had, full stop. It’s nostalgic without being gimmicky, sweet without being syrupy, and balanced in a way that feels… grown up, but still fun.
If Han’s can make a kombucha taste like cherry pie and keep it refreshing? Then yes, I absolutely believe the rest of their flavors are worth chasing down like rare vinyl.
Best for:
- people who “don’t usually like kombucha”
- kombucha lovers who want something smoother and less vinegary
- anyone who wants a treat that still feels like a smart choice
