Go Brewing, based in Naperville, Illinois, has quickly become a mainstay in the non-alcoholic craft beer scene, serving up sober-friendly suds with bold flavors and creative twists. While many breweries cautiously dip a toe into the NA pool, Go Brewing cannonballs in with a splash, determined to make waves in a market that’s no longer just an afterthought. From crisp lagers to hop-heavy IPAs, Go Brewing isn’t afraid to test the taste bud waters with confidence and creativity.
This week, we are drinking The Story, a double IPA from Go Brewing that promises a full-bodied hop adventure without the booze-fueled baggage. Pouring a clear copper color, this brew immediately broadcasts its dank-hop intentions straight to the scent center with notes of Simcoe and Mosaic hops strutting across the stage like aromatic rock stars. It smelled like a pine forest hosted a citrus festival, and everyone showed up with a grapefruit garnish.
On the tongue holster, The Story doesn’t just walk the hop talk; it sprints through a bitter botanical garden. The first sip hits with a hoppy haymaker before mellowing into a medley of resinous pine, sun-kissed citrus, and a whisper of malt sweetness. Simcoe and Mosaic hops share the limelight here, delivering deliciously dank delight that dances on the taste buds long after the sip subsides. It’s a heady, hoppy hopscotch across flavor town that Double IPA devotees will definitely dig.
Untappd gives The Story from Go Brewing a 3.5 out of 5, but I’m hitting the hyperdrive and giving it a 4.8. This is the double IPA I’ve been waiting for in the NA world: bold, balanced, and bursting with hop happiness. If you’re craving a bitter banger that won’t leave you woozy, grab The Story and let your face hole take a trip to hop heaven.
