The Sober Shift: An Evening with Author Suzanne Warye

In THE SOBER SHIFT: A Modern-Day Guide to Living an Abundant Sober Life (HarperOne; 09/30/2025), wellness writer and creator of The Sober Mom Life podcast and My Kind of Sweet, Suzanne Warye, invites readers to live fully, joyfully, and free from alcohol. With her signature humor and inviting tone, Warye redefines sobriety as a path to true abundance—one that nurtures deeper connections, intentional living, and a richer, more fulfilling life.

At 39, as the mother of a newborn, Warye woke up one morning with yet another hangover and decided enough was enough. In January 2020, she quit alcohol for good and discovered that living alcohol-free wasn’t about deprivation, it was about gaining clarity. In THE SOBER SHIFT, she shares her inspiring journey, challenging societal norms like “Mommy Wine Culture” and the myth of moderation while encouraging readers to rethink their own relationship with drinking.

Blending memoir with practical strategies, cultural insights, and seasonal mocktail recipes like the Virgin Rosemary Moscow Mule and Tart Cherry Spritz, THE SOBER SHIFT shows that life without alcohol can be vibrant and fulfilling. Drawing from her own journey, Warye compassionately tackles common concerns—like how to relax or navigate social situations without drinking—and offers inspiration to embrace a joyful, authentic, and connected life. Whether you’re exploring sobriety or fully committed, this empowering guide invites you to discover your best self and thrive without alcohol.
