Somewhere in your house there is a stack. The novel three people swore was incredible. The memoir you bought at the airport. The nonfiction hardcover you are forty pages into and quietly resenting.

Bring it. All of it. Whatever you are actually reading, not what you want people to think you are reading.

Read Receipts is one hour a month where we go around the room and talk about what is on the nightstand right now. No assigned book. No pop quiz. Nobody is making you finish anything. Just a room full of grown-ass sober adults with excellent taste comparing notes on what is worth your time and what you can safely abandon at chapter three.

How it works:

• One hour, second Sunday of the month, 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm UK
• No required reading. Bring whatever you are in the middle of.
• Two or three minutes each to make your case, then we cross-examine
• Cameras on if you want, off if you do not, pajamas fully permitted
• Everything mentioned goes into The Backstage Shelf, the monthly list of what this room is reading, in your inbox the next day

Fiction, quit lit, celebrity memoir, the thriller you are embarrassed about, the book club pick you hated. It all counts. Especially the one you hated.

Come with one recommendation. Leave with eleven.
