Sober Travel Retreats: From Chaos to Calm, Antigua 12 Family Travel Retreats
This retreat is designed to support family members of people struggling with alcoholism. Through guided workshops, we explore what alcoholism truly is, how it affects the entire family system, and the behaviors we may unknowingly adopt that can be harmful to ourselves and our loved ones. Participants share their personal experiences in a safe, supportive space and learn from one another, creating deep connection, understanding, and healing.
In addition to the therapeutic and educational component, the retreat is enriched by meaningful cultural and service experiences in Guatemala. We visit a macadamia farm, take a cultural walking tour of Antigua, and explore the Cacao Museum where participants learn how to make chocolate. We attend a traditional Mayan ceremony, visit Lake Atitlán, and meet the Mayan folk saint Maximón. The retreat also includes a cooking lesson and an optional volcano hike.
Service is an important part of the experience: participants help build a bunk bed for families in need and visit an orphanage. The combination of personal growth, cultural immersion, nature, and service makes this retreat a unique, transformative experience that nurtures healing, perspective, and connection.
The cost of the retreat includes all scheduled activities and meals outlined in the itinerary. International airfare is not included; however, we are happy to assist with flight booking at no additional cost.
