International Recovery Day 2026

International Recovery Day 2026
Observed annually on September 30, International Recovery Day is a global movement dedicated to embracing all addictions, all recovery pathways, and all those touched by addiction. It is a day of unity, remembrance, and inspiration—honoring the resilience of those in recovery, mourning those lost to addiction, supporting those still struggling, and standing in solidarity with the families and friends impacted by this journey.
Core Principles:
• Hope & Healing: Recovery is possible, and every step forward deserves recognition.
• Community Support: No one recovers alone—connection and understanding strengthen the journey.
• Awareness & Advocacy: Reducing stigma, promoting education, and inspiring change.
Values:
• Inclusion: Every pathway to recovery matters. Every individual is valued.
• Resilience: Honoring the strength of those in recovery and those fighting for it.
• Remembrance: Acknowledging lives lost, holding space for grief, and fostering healing.
• Empowerment: Inspiring individuals to embrace their future with strength and optimism.
International Recovery Day is more than a date—it’s a movement. Last year we had nearly 80 thousand participants representing 195 countries! From lighting up landmarks in purple to personal stories, local events, and global awareness campaigns, this day unites people worldwide in a powerful message:
Recovery is real, and it deserves to be celebrated.
