Here’s to Zero-Proof Partying! We taste-tested the DRY Watermelon Botanical Bubbly Firecracker recipe and it was happiness in a glass. Literally! If you love watermelon with a hint of spice, then you’ll want to add this alcohol-free bevy to your next Happy Every Hour.

Here’s to friends with convertibles! That’s what you’ll find on the packaging of the DRY Watermelon Botanical Bubbly. Their claim? Four ingrédients plus a dash of je ne sais quoi.

FIRECRACKER RECIPE CARD:

DIRECTIONS:

In a shaker mix lime juice, sugar cube, and jalapeno. Let the cube dissolve, add ice, and shake until cold. Rim a glass with salt and add a few fresh watermelon cubes. Pour in shaker mixture and top with DRY Watermelon Botanical Bubbly. Garnish with a lime wheel.

One of my besties, Erin, and I spent an entire Saturday doing a tasting tour of DRY recipes. Technically the “tour” included Erin’s kitchen, Erin’s living room, Erin’s TV room, Erin’s backyard, and Erin’s deck. You can call that “covid-friendly travel”. As for the tasting portion, earlier that day I pulled up in my Cadillac to Erin’s house in Kirkland, WA with a trunk loaded with DRY Botanical Bubbly products and boxes of my vintage glassware. Saturday SOBER DAY DRINKING for the win! Let’s get this party started!!!

TASTING NOTES:

Several hours later…

Erin (BESTIE): “I’m halfway thru a tasting and I don’t have a buzz”

Alysse (ME): “Watermelon and the Happiness Hotel = yes please!”

First of all, this drink can’t suck because it’s in a Muppet glass. Drinking can still be fun. Actually, it can be a Happiness Hotel kind of fun. We left the “fire” out so Erin wouldn’t die. (She’s allergic to peppers among other things.) While we both enjoyed this recipe sans jalapeno’s, we were in agreement that we preferred the DRY Watermelon Botanical Bubbly all by itself with a side dish of watermelon chunks to chase it with.
