    King County Behavioral Health Invites Artists to Reduce Stigma with Message of Hope for Recovery and Wellness

    Are you a Sober Artist in the greater Seattle area? Check out this call of submissions! King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division invites you to showcase your art to reduce stigma and share a message of hope for recovery and wellness. 

    Theme: Healing Through Connection

    Deadline: Enter by Friday, July 14th, 2023


    Guidelines:

    • King County residents in mental health or substance use recovery, and their family members, are eligible for the showcase.
    • Artwork must be original and express the showcase theme. 
    • Art must be two-dimensional. Examples include art created using pencil, ink, crayon, markers, paint, or collage.
    • Language and imagery must be appropriate for all audiences. Please do not submit material others may find distressing. 
    • One entry per person.
    • Artists under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian consent.

    How to Enter:

    • Complete and sign the entry form.
    • Scan or take a photo of your physical artwork to include with your entry form.
    • Send your completed entry form with a scanned image or photo of your artwork to recoveryconference@kingcounty.gov 
    • All submissions will be considered.

    In-Person Showcase Option

    King County is partnering with community-based organizations to provide all who enter an opportunity to showcase their original artwork during the Belltown Art Walk this fall.

    If you would like to be considered for the in-person showcase, simply indicate your interest when submitting your entry by email. Artists who choose the in-person showcase option will be encouraged to frame their art.
