Alcohol does not preclude the addict.
The addict does not engage in self reflection.
The addict simply exists.
Alcohol is the substance, mechanism and modality of its own toxic proliferation.
It is the spirit of its own machinations,
An automaton of twisted confusion,
It is the church we went to many times
And many times more, faltered
And fell.
And then, rose
And rose again.
We rose for life,
We rose for inclusion to a fair existence;
One where the anxious dread is not common
One where the light begins
One where the warmth of our fellow companion is never far.
One where the difference we make is seen, noticed and particularly felt.
One whereby the destruction and obliteration of our selves is but a spectre in the mists of time.
This is ours,
Ours is here,
This is the line.

FAMILY RESOURCE GUIDE: Families play a pivotal role in both the path to and through recovery. Research shows that individuals with strong family support have significantly better outcomes, including higher rates of sustained sobriety and improved mental well-being.
When families commit to learning about addiction, joining support groups, and actively participating in recovery, their involvement becomes transformative—not just supportive. Recovery is a collective journey, and compassionate, informed family engagement can be the foundation for lasting change.
