Recovery Café Resource Connection + Recovery Celebration – September 15th

Dear resilient souls and recovery advocates, mark your calendars and get ready for a day of inspiration and connection like no other. On Friday, September 15th, from 12 to 2 PM, the heart of Seattle’s Sodo district will come alive with the spirit of recovery at the Recovery Cafe Resource Connection and Recovery Celebration.

Hosted by a powerhouse collaboration between the Recovery Cafe, Recovery Cafe Network, King County, Washington Recovery Alliance, King County Recovery Coalition, and the Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network, this event is a testament to the strength of community and the unwavering commitment to healing. At 1 PM, we’ll gather for a powerful “Speak Out for Recovery” session, where stories of resilience and hope will light up the room. So, join us for an afternoon of unity, support, and celebration as we stand together on the path to recovery at Recovery Cafe Sodo.

About the Recovery Café

Recovery Café was founded on the idea that everyone is loved and has gifts to share. The Members we serve are in recovery from the traumas of homelessness, addiction, and other mental health challenges. Inclusion is primary to our work.

About the Recovery Café Network

The Recovery Café Network is committed to nurturing groups seeking to start recovery communities based on the Recovery Café model. Through a cohort learning model, groups and organizations will be provided mentorship, materials, expertise, and facilitated learning experiences to create a recovery community in their area.  The Network is committed to helping those who join the Network as an Emerging Member be successful in starting their program, building recovery capital in their communities, and becoming certified as Full Members of the Network.

The Network creates the structure for us to teach each other about what does and does not work.  It also creates a platform to generate greater resources.  Recovery Café Network is built upon a foundation that incorporates best practices informed by lived experience and the latest academic research. With this groundwork, the RCN brand is one from which every Member of the Network benefits.

About the Washington Recovery Alliance

Concerned about a lack of an organized voice advocating for recovery issues in Washington state, as well as a desire to capitalize on the excellent foundation of collaboration that the Access to Recovery grant program had built, the Washington Recovery Alliance (WRA) was founded in November 2014.

The WRA is a statewide, grassroots organization comprised of individuals in recovery from addiction and mental health conditions, families impacted by behavioral health conditions, and recovery community organizations driving change in two spheres related to behavioral health recovery: public policy and public understanding.

Want to get involved? Individuals and organizations are both encouraged to get involved! Check out how to get involved here.

About the KING County Recovery Coalition

The King County Recovery Coalition (KCRC) is a regional coalition of the Washington Recovery Alliance. They advance substance use recovery and mental wellness by changing public understanding of behavioral health conditions and advocating for pro-recovery policies in King County. KCRC mobilizes people like you to drive change in behavioral health public policy – because we do recover, and we are the proof.

Their Mission: Advancing substance use recovery and mental health wellness by catalyzing public understanding and public policy innovation through community partnerships.

Their Vision: Recovery is a reality for all.
