Walk Your Talk Break Free Fashion Show + Gala – NYC

Join us for the Break Free Gala on Wednesday, October 25th at the Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island. The evening opens with mocktail hour from 6 – 7pm.

The Break Free Gala celebrates and uplifts anyone who walks the road of recovery. With motivational speakers, a runway show, a silent auction, an award ceremony, and networking opportunities, this is an evening for anyone passionate about mental health and recovery awareness.

The breathtaking views of the New York City skyline will serve as the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable event. 🌆 Get ready to mingle with fashion enthusiasts, industry insiders, and influencers as we celebrate creativity, diversity, and unity.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to witness the magic of fashion while supporting a great cause! 🌟

There will be a mocktail hour with a grazing table. This event will be structured on a schedule so PLEASE be on time and ARRIVE EARLY SO THAT YOU CAN WALK THE RED CARPET.

The theme of this year’s gala is “Walk Your Talk,” we will be celebrating those who recover out loud and walk their talk each and every day. As with any Break Free event, fashion will be front and center. The dress code for this event is creative black tie also known as “Hollywood black tie.” Creative black tie is a creative twist on the black tie dress code injected with bolder colors and textures instead of sticking to just traditional all-black ensembles.

Guests are invited to dress as avant-garde as they desire and to enjoy a runway presentation by Break Free founder, Alexandra Nyman of the fashion house – LadyCat (iamladycat.com) as well as runway shows by Claire Comai of Rehab Studios and more. At the conclusion of the runway show, the models will then fan out and into a live mannequin showroom, where all guests are encouraged to interact with them and hear their stories of recovery.

Date: Wednesday, October 25, 6-9:30 pm EDT

Location: The Sanctuary Roosevelt Island, 851 Main Street New York, NY

About the Break Free Foundation

The Break Free Foundation began as an idea for there to be a way for individuals struggling with their mental health and with substance use to be able to apply for financial aid to cover their treatment where insurance falls short. On February 14th, 2022, we held our first fundraiser in partnership with the 501(c)(3) organization 10,000 Beds to raise funds for their scholarship fund to send individuals to a rehabilitation center at no cost to them. We were able to award ten scholarships from this initial showcase and went on to hold our second showcase on September 10th, world suicide prevention day.

We established a new memorial scholarship fund in partnership with 10,000 Beds in memory of Sergeant Tyler who lost his battle with depression in March of 2022. This scholarship fund will go towards helping veterans and active service members find help for their substance use before they make an irreversible decision. This year’s scholarship fund will go to two individuals.
