Two Roots Brewing Resin Riot Is My New Favorite NA Beer Of All Time

Two Roots, originating in California, but now being pumped out by the barrel right here in Michigan, is joining us again with what might be my all-time favorite NA beer. You guys. I’m serious. Call the priest and fire him because, with this beer, I have exercised the demons!

This week, we are drinking Resin Riot by Two Roots. Two Roots has joined us with their delicious beers many times and there are still more to come, but this one is special. I first tried this last fall and I was in shock over how good it was. I am a hophead. I miss those crazy hoppy IPAs that many people hate because they’re “too hoppy”. Get a life, lady, they’re delicious. This brew from Two Roots is a double IPA, which means, or at least should mean, that it is chock full of hop flavor to the point of disgust by some.

How Does It Pour?

Right when I open and pour this inconspicuous blue can into my glass, I know what I am getting into. Hoppy aromas pour into the air like you just opened your uncle’s weed tin in the living room. The smell is strong and it’s fantastic and I want to swim in it. The beer pours a beautiful light copper color with a perfectly off-white, not quite cream-colored head. As the bubbles pop, more poppin’ hops are released into the air. Two Roots, you make my dreams come true.

How Does It Taste?

The taste is, of course, the most meaningful part and in this way, Two Roots and Resin Riot truly deliver the goods. The hops are heavy, front-facing, and forward. The bitter plant taste favored by all hop heads coats your entire tongue. It moves into your mouth with a few suitcases and lets you know that it will not be leaving anytime soon. The flavor is perfect and reminiscent of heavy Stone IPAs, Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, and limited edition Lagunitas hoppy blasters. The perfect NA beer is here.

A little bird told me that Two Roots was considering this for their regular lineup, to which I say “goodbye other beers”. I hope they do it. I love it so much. Untappd gives Resin Riot by Two Roots a 4.4 out of 5. That is literally the highest ranked NA beer out there, I think. Seriously. I think you need to set up a Google Alert for this so you can get it whenever it becomes available again.

Yum.
