The Daily Llama’s Weekly Word of the Day and Meditations

The Daily Llama, by Staci DesRault, brings you short, one-word meditations and a corresponding quote plus a reflection for your complete wool-being (#seewhatwedidthere?) for Monday, November 6th – Friday, November 10th, 2023.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6th

WORD OF THE DAY: KINETIC

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

MEDITATE ON THIS:

It is not what you know or thinks you know. It is not what you have done or not done in the past. It is not about how many times you have lost or how many times you have won. It is what you are willing to do today that counts. Just today.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7th

WORD OF THE DAILY: LEVERAGE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

MEDITATE ON THIS:

One cannot expect anyone else to listen to us, even if we have the perfect advice if we do not even listen to ourselves. It is easy to say what the right thing to do is. It is harder to do it. Lead by example.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8th

WORD OF THE DAYMETICULOUS

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

MEDITATE ON THIS:

Many say life never works out the way we plan. Just remember for the most part, that’s a good thing. Often the things we set our minds to achieve turn out not to be the things that bring us happiness. The best stuff in life often comes to us through luck and not because of our hard work. Sure, taking action tends to harvest more rewards than not taking action. But now and then, the universe provides us a gift we did not earn or deserve. It’s okay to receive things that we did not plan.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9th

WORD OF THE DAY: NAVIGATE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

MEDITATE ON THIS:

There is a time and a place and a purpose for reflection on what has happened in the past. But our task today is one of moving forward. May our histories-both individual and collective-help us navigate what lies ahead, and not keep us stuck in the past.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10th

WORD OF THE DAY: OOMPH

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

MEDITATE ON THIS:

Repeat after me – I will learn to say no so my yes has some oomph. I will learn to prioritize the present and future versions of myself. I will learn to show compassion, unconditional love, and forgiveness to the past version of me. I will learn to say no so that my yes has some oomph.
