Happy Every Hour With Justin Lamb: Mikkeller Brewing Limbo Series With Yuzu Fruit Is Fruity & Fabulous Packaged In A Can

It’s always Happy Every Hour when the beverages you choose to drink are non-alcoholic. This week, Sober Curator Justin Lamb brings us the 4-1-1 on Mikkeller Brewing Limbo Series with Yuzu Fruit.

Happy Every Hour with Justin Lamb: Mikkeller Brewing

Finding its home in Copenhagen, Mikkeller was founded in 2006. It is one of those few breweries that create a delicious non-alcoholic beer to go along with its normal selection. Of all of Mikkeller’s options, their fruit-based “Limbo Series” caters to the sour and gose fans. The “Limbo Series,” notated by the symmetric and colorful cartoon label, comes in. Mikkeller also offers a non-alcoholic golden ale and IPA.

Mikkeller Brewing Limbo Series with Yuzu Fruit

This week, we’re reviewing Mikkeller’s Limbo Series with Yuzu Fruit. Like all of the other Limbo Series non-alcoholic beers, this is a Flemish Primitive Ale. Mikkeller describes this beer as being brewed with no overwhelming varieties of hops or grains. The flavors are meant to be neutral in their palate and balance. The flavor comes in when the fruit is added. In this case: Yuzu Fruit.

How Does it Pour?

The beer pours like a crisp, clear, light beer. Its color is brick road yellow with a slight head in a stark white. The citrus hinted aroma pours from the glass and makes you salivate upon your first inhale. You may find some sediment floating around your glass. I know I did. Some sediment in some beers is normal. I don’t know if that applies to this or not, but it was there. It wasn’t chunky or anything, and now I feel like I’ve wasted too many sentences writing about it.

How Does it Taste?

The flavor is filling, but the beer is not. What I mean by this is that the flavors hit all the spots in your mouth: a little sweet and sour. The beer is so light in feel and thickness that you could rely on this on a summer day. If you were ever a fan of a shandy (a light beer mixed with lemonade), this is definitely the drink for you. The yuzu flavor may lean more into the sour than sweet, but the result is nothing short of summer chic. Be fabulous and flirty with a Limbo Series in hand!

MOVIE NIGHT: Because it’s movie night and the feelings are right, it’s movie night! Since you’re not binging on alcohol and drugs anymore, you’re going to need other activities to fill your time. Especially considering we are still in the middle of a global pandemic. Get your binge on with movies and TV series that The Sober Curator recommends. Pop the popcorn, make your favorite mocktail or alcohol-free bevies, grab your favorite treats and sweets, and settle in for some good old-fashioned cinema entertainment.
