Happy Every Hour: Betty Buzz, Founded by Non-Drinker Blake Lively, Is Your New Go-To Ginger Beer

Blake Lively doesn’t drink. This may come as a surprise to you, considering the cocktails she slurped down on her Gossip Girl days and the fact her dreamy, superhero husband Ryan Reynolds has his brand Aviation American Gin. Lively explains “Over the past many years of mixing but not drinking cocktails, it became clear mixers are the unsung heroes of the drink world and deserve just as much love as alcohol.”

Should I ever cross paths with this famous, blonde bombshell, I will greet her with an enthusiastic high five and thank her for shining a light on the fact that we non-drinkers don’t just want the lame mixer leftovers.

Betty Buzz Ginger Beer

Clean, fresh ginger taste with the perfect balance of spice.

Ingredients:

No artificial colors or sweeteners and only 70 calories per 9 oz. bottle.

Sexy Shelf Appeal!

If you’re the kind of person that buys a book based on its cover, then rest assured you can feel good about purchasing this product based on its packaging alone. The branding is clean, modern, and flirty. The weight of the cold glass bottle will feel good in your nicely manicured hand. Packing a picnic or headed to a girl’s night? Bring Betty Buzz along for hang-over-free fun!

How Does It Taste?

Warning! This is not your Grandma’s ginger beer! This non-alcoholic bevie has some get-up and go, as the strong ginger flavor comes through loud and clear. If you’re not a die-hard ginger fan, you may want to consider using it as a mixer, and the Betty Buzz website has a robust recipe section for all your drink inspirations. Sober Curator Pro Tip: Make sure to check out her Cosmo-Not cosmopolitan cocktail alternative made with the Sparkling Grapefruit flavor. The recipe name is adorbs and this alc-free bevie is perfect for a night-in watching the new And Just Like That SATC reboot!

Crafted in the USA and made with only clean ingredients, the Betty Buzz line-up currently includes five buzz worthy flavors! The sparkling Grapefruit and Lemon Lime are on my list to try next.

Why Betty?

The name of the brand has a family connection for Lively. Betty was the name of her dad’s mom and sister and is also the name of her youngest daughter. Sober Curator Fun Fact: Lively and Reynolds intended to keep their third daughter’s name a secret from the public until their close friend Taylor Swift gave it away in her 2020 song, titled ‘Betty.’ Lively’s middle child is named Inez, which is the same name as my Grandma Bryson. Blake, if you’re reading this, let’s collab on an alcohol-free cocktail recipe and name it after Inez! My Grandma loved lavender, perhaps that should be your next flavor! Call me!

I’m sure you’re probably shaking your sober head right now and thinking to yourself, why does Alysse Bryson believe that Blake Lively is reading The Sober Curator? First of all, PEOPLE magazine should have you trained by now to know that celebrities…they’re just like us! I think it’s possible this post could make it into her inbox. In fact, I’m going to “law of attraction” our new budding friendship based on this recent public display of affection. Lively liked AND commented with six emojis on my IG post, as pictured below!!!

Drew’s Little Yellow Book
