Bravus Brewing Double Dry-Hopped IPA Provides A Hoppy Flavor That Jumps Around Your Tongue

I’ve reviewed many brews by Bravus Brewing, and they should be a familiar name by now. This NA brewery from southern California is joining us again for what may be my favorite beer by them. Over the many beers from this bombastic brewery I’ve tried, my reviews have been mixed, and I often tend to favor their dark selections like peanut butter stouts and barrel-aged stouts. However, my heart was possibly won over by this IPA.

This week, we are drinking Double Dry-Hopped IPA from Bravus Brewing. We have had their standard IPA before and their Blood Orange IPA and Mango Habanero IPA. The rating on these has truly run the gambit, as they all have an undertone of wort-like unfinishedness about them, but this is the one that changes opinions.

How Does It Pour?

The Double Dry-Hopped IPA from Bravus Brewing pours clear and has a light copper color. Hops sprinkle into the air as the slightly off-white head dissipates, but not as strong as I would assume a double IPA would. As a double IPA, you may expect something darker and possibly a little less clear. I’m not looking for something as fuzzy as a Hazy IPA, but Bravus Brewing surprised me with its color and clarity.

How Does It Taste?

The flavor profile fixes any misconceptions you may have had about how Bravus Brewing made their double IPA. I have good news for those fellow hop heads looking for a mouthful of bitter deliciousness: you get it! The hoppy flavor jumps around your tongue and takes residence, giving you that familiar flavor of hops coating your entire throat. There is still a tinge of that wort-like flavor, but it is quickly removed and forgotten about by the overwhelming hoppiness.

Untappd gives this Double Dry-Hopped IPA from Bravus Brewing a ___ out of 5. That’s right. Nothing. I didn’t realize how limited this release was, and it doesn’t even have a presence on there. It may be more challenging to bring it back with that in mind. Bravus, if you are reading this, please bring this delicious brew back!
