Shop Til You Drop!

You don’t just shop at Painted Tree. You experience it and fall in love with it. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back again and again for unique, delightful home décor that you know will inspire, transform, and make each visit better than the last.

I’ve never met a gift shop I didn’t love, and the Painted Tree was a fun, surprise find that my son and I stumbled upon after visiting Saks OFF 5TH in Scottsdale. With over 300 vendors, it was fun to explore and shop for treasures I didn’t know I needed. I found the perfect Dolly Parton T-shirt and my son scored three pairs of unique and funky socks.

Buy Art Made by Local Seniors

Since we were traveling with my parents, we stayed with them at Paradise RV Resort in Sun City, which is a 55+ and over community. As it turns out, I completely fell in love with the place and was sad when it was time to go home. This place offered all kinds of amenities that included: a rock tumbling room, jewelry making room, stained glass room, sewing room, card room, gaming room, poker tables and billiards, lawn bowling, pickleball, woodshop, library, and computer rooms.

Seniors that live here year-round or even for part of the year spend their time making crafts that you can buy! My dad could not believe I spent $85 on “a bunch of rocks”. But as you can see in the photo above, I think it was worth every penny. Side note: I am now SUPER EXCITED to turn 55. Eight years and counting – here we go!

Paradise RV Resort in Phoenix is a 5-star, age-qualified RV resort that offers exciting on-site activities. Cool off in their stunning swimming pool or relax in their steaming hot tub. Hit the courts for a game of tennis or pickleball or try your skills at shuffleboard or billiards. Plus, their staff regularly arranges group outings and events. Guests also enjoy easy access to shopping, restaurants, parks, hiking and several museums all within minutes of the resort.

Sushi Roku

Sushi Roku in Scottsdale rolled out an entire mocktail menu. These handcrafted, alcohol-free drinks have names like the Zen Garden and the Coco Loco. The Lost in Paradise was very appealing, with serrano jalapeños, passionfruit puree, lemon juice, orgeat, simple syrup, and Fever Tree Ginger. While these may still have the sugar, they certainly won’t have you hungover.
