SUMMARY:Creative Kaleidoscope: Morning Altars Workshop | Teetotal Initiative Pittsburgh
DESCRIPTION:Creative Kaleidoscope: Morning Altars Workshop | Teetotal Initiative Pittsburgh\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event: \n\nMorning Altars Workshop \n\nJoin us for a nourishing and creative afternoon at our Morning Altars Workshop\, a guided 7-step practice designed to reconnect you with your inner landscape through nature\, art\, and ritual. \n\nTogether\, we’ll begin by stepping into curiosity and wonder as we respectfully forage for natural materials in Highland Park’s vibrant spring environment. Leaves\, flowers\, stones\, pinecones\, and other natural found elements will become the foundation for our creative process. From there\, we’ll gently transition into preparing a personal space for reflection and creation\, culminating in the design of your own meditative nature mandala using your collected materials—an altar that reflects your inner world. \n\nGuided by the theme of “thresholds\,” this workshop invites you to explore moments of transition in your life—both past and emerging. Through this intentional and hands-on practice\, you’ll have the opportunity to honor where you’ve been\, acknowledge where you are\, and open to what lies ahead\, all while grounded in the beauty of the natural world. \n\nYour facilitator\, Lauren Broyles\, Director of Creative Arts Programming at Teetotal Initiative\, will guide you through the experience. This workshop also marks Lauren’s culminating project in her 7-month Morning Altars Facilitator Training. The photos above depict some of her own creations; for a bit more of a peek at Morning Altars workshops\, check out this short video by Morning Altars creator and author\, Day Schildkret. \n\nWhether you’re seeking creative expression\, reflection\, or connection with nature\, this workshop offers a meaningful and restorative experience. Bring a pen and journal\, but otherwise\, come as you are—no artistic experience necessary. \n\nThis special session will take place on Sunday\, May 17\, 2026\, from 11 AM–2 PM at the Lake Point Shelter\, near the pool at Highland Park (7084 Lake Drive\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15206).
